    What's required to piece a KO4 kit together? (B6)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I was just wondering whats needed, since this seems to be the sole kit that's working w/o problems and putting out fairly steady numbers, but lets not get into that...

    I have this list:

    Chip
    Injectors
    K04 Turbo

    What else?

    why would you?
you are already going to have a higher flow rated injector.

all FPRs flow the same at a constant.. only when at certain points of full request does it need to be change.

IIRC you would need the TT injectors.

You dont need TT injectors, but they are probably the best ones to get. I have Vw 317cc injectors at the momemnt, and they work just fine.

    I believe the TT's are 380cc?

Obviously, more fuel can mean more power with the right software. I plan on upgrading my injectors in a few months to something a little larger

I wouldn't buy a used one unless it's a good deal and you have it checked out...even then, only if you can't afford a new one.

    Not available yet.
    I emailed them last week.

I put an order in with ECS as they are well known and have dellivered products quickly. I'm from Australia and it took them 3 days to send a snub mount and K04 gasket kit.

Their customer service could use improving.
Been 10 days and still no reply to my email.

LMAO, you said a mouthful, I live 10 mins away from them and they have shitty customer service. I've called, emailed, and IM'd them about 20x in regards to some tranny work I wanted to have done and nothing...

Hell I even ran into some of the guys that work there at local car meets and nothing. Ran into the owner's brother, the guy who does the website, the guy who owns it...

It amazes, so believe it or not, I've stayed away from ECS... even though they're local and I wouldn't have to pay shipping.

    Would 364cc injectors work ok?

I found a set of 4 brand new at ECS for $250...

BTW, Saturnine and other guys w/ the K04, where'd you get yours?

Yes those injectors will work as long as the software is set for 364cc injectors. Who is doing your programming/tunning?

Well I was going to go w/ Neuspeed probablly... but I dunno, I may go w/ Revo from Ecode only because I'm sick of the CEL from the test pipe.... and w/ their software they say they can get rid of it.

Just get an OBD II o2 modulator. You can find them for $20 on eBay. Sends a bogus primary o2 sensor voltage to your ecu, thus no more CE light. Gotta make sure your software isn't trimming based on those reading though.

Just get REVO, I had mine with test pipe for 3K miles and so far no CEL.

Is there anyone here with REVO software yet for a KO4? All I've heard is Neuspeed. Revo w/ SPS3 is $500 more, I'm wondering if the extra $500 is worth it? Will REVO be smoother?!?

Speaking as some one who just noticed honking on his TTDV, I can say with a good deal of confidence that you will want a heartier valve on that thing. Im switching to GFB DV. Ill let everyone know how it works out.

I thought the same thing as well, but Mark has been running his KO4 for awhile now with the TTDV, and has no problems even spiking at 23psi. I had a hyperboost adj. DV, but it was shot after a year in stock mode. Maybe I'll look into Forge.

no problems with my 710N valve at all. I've had no honking at all since I replaced the weaker stock one. even if it does fail, it's only 30 beans to get a new one. since I've had the same one for the last 25k I picked up a spare a few months back for the upcoming few years.

I'm going K04 if it's as reliable as K03, if there is such a thing as a reliable turbo. I'd like to be able to drop in the turbo and forget about it in other words. Just like as if I purchased my car with the K03, of course, cooling down the engine and properly warming up the car, oil changes and what not. Would it be safe for me to go SK04 and still continue to have a turbo that's equally as reliable as the K04 and K03?

Hell no, that SKO4 is a hybrid turbo, which = no long term testing. Go EO5 over the SKO4 anyday...I got a KO4 because of the same stuff you're talking about. Reliability.

strike that and reverse it, the SK04 is a ten fold better turbo than that paper weight E-05.....

When you take your car into to get serviced to they question the turbo or does it pretty much hide itself well as a K03? How's the turbo lag? Do you know what you're boosting.

156whp....Now I'm wondering if the upgrade is even worth it. Well it's better than whatever whp I have with my chip and exhaust on this heavy car. Maybe I should just get a FMIC, boost controller and bigger turbo inlet pipe and some CAMS!!! JK about the cams.
