Headlight/light error on indash message screen??

I have had what I think is a headlight picture/icon pop up twice for a few seconds on the gauge display screen while driving.

Both headlights are working fine, and both times this has happened have been daylight with the headlights off. Could this be an intermittent brake light out or something?

Any suggestions?

Do you have auto headlights? I get this all of the time on my car and it is starting to piss me off. Audi told me " we don't see it". So am I supposed to let them drive my car around for 3 days until it happens again? Sorry I had to vent.

I have gotten this error message twice before I hit 3k miles. Is this a bug Audi has yet to take care of?

yeah it has to be a bug...and yes my lights are always set on auto

Yes, I also have auto headlights. It hadnt happened until I got my final version of REVO, so I was concerned it was a software problem.

I have no idea why it would do this. I think I had my headlights switched to off the 2nd time (to see if this was related) but dont remember.

I had this problem as well. I was told my my mechanic that if your B6 is equipped with auto-leveling Xenon's and you drive over harsh roads alot that it can cause a short in the sensor. Did any of you notice it after you hit a bump?

i just got the same warning the other day. I had it on auto-lights also. not sure if i have just went over a bump but my lights are ok. the auto-leveling is also working fine.

I think the 2nd time it happened, I was stopped at a red light, in day light. I'll keep my eye on it from now on. I only have 2k miles on the car, but both times it has happened has been within the last few days, just after I got the ECU back from REVO for the 2nd time.

i was driving in a bumpy parking lot, i figured it must of rattled something and set off a sensor.

well it happened to me again but this time it didnt cut off i drove for like 15 min. and it stayed on the whole time. it was around dusk so the lights were on. i stoppped and turned the car off and it went away. now it seems like the lights are higher than they were before. I just put Tein S-tech springs on today, could this have any effect on the auto-leveling as far as the light beam pointing to high? audi is starting to = pain in my butt:-(

Crap! this has happended to me as well. I thought that there is something wrong for sure but reading this post makes me feel better knowing that it is a common problem.

After I installed suspension on my car mine comes on now too! Only when I cut the steering wheel hard to the right. And doesn't matter if lights are on or not. It goes away when I straighten the wheel. I figure it has to do with the sensor in the front left wheel well. I thought we put it back the way it was before the install but I guess not. Either way the lights seem to work ok.
