Will this hurt performance of my car?

ok, so i was forced to buy a new set of rims last week using my suspension money, but i reeeaallly wanna lower my car NOW. would it hurt performance if i bought sproings now, but used my stock, non sport shocks for a couple months until i make neough money to buy shocks/the shocks crap out? will this work and if so, will it hurt performance? and i wouldn't need an alignment if i do just springs, right? that should save me like $700 for now, but i'll do the rest later, is this plausible?

It would be better to buy the whole suspension setup in one shot, factory shocks won't last long with lower springs.

It depends on the kinds of springs you went with. I would have only said that Eibach springs and stock sport shock could be used for a short time together. Minimal drop. But it's going to wear them out and the ride won't be great. And you also have to see you will be paying for double the install to get them swapped out again.

I would say you need an alignment in both cases, since each time you change a shock/spring, you have to remove the entire unit. It's hard to get everything back exactly lined up.

Like stated above, I'd wait and get it done all in one shot.

I've heard that some people had success running S4 shocks with A4 race springs. That might save you some money, if you can find a used set and some used aftermarket springs.

I'm not sure about the S4 shocks though, I just recall reading that somewhere.

It really isn't a savings in the long run. Just stick it out and do it all at once.

You will have to pay for or do the labor fo 2 installs, plus 2 alignments depending on how long you are goign to wait if you want to save your tires. I say just do it in one shot. It will be that much more rewarding.
