I've tried to keep my mouth shut about this for quite awhile now. But after reading some recent posts, I feel its important to say something as a member who has been a part of and supportive of this site since 2002.
The biggest benefit to this forum is a healthy debate. Debates about Audi performance provides knowledge about our cars, about tuner/product options out there, and about possibly negative products/tuners. Mostly, this encompasses opinion. Occasionally, these debates reveal some facts. As far as I've seen, debates become arguments, flame wars, etc. when members resort to false accusations, blatantly rude remarks, personal attacks, and/or name-calling.
I don't care for that. However, at the same time, a singular member may choose to do so if he/she feels like it. In this sense, they do so with the knowledge that their statements may attract strong rebuttals, anger, and/or temporary/permanent suspension from AZ. This is a member's choice to do so if they like, they understand the consequences.
With this in mind, I've had trouble reading David@Eurocode's posts. I do not have any issues with the products themselves. I am very happy with Revo products, Thermal products, etc. I'm happy to see an upgraded turbo being offered to the Audi community.
I am not comfortable, however, dealing with a company that has found it necessary to not only attack other tuners on this forum, but members who are not tuners. When I choose to spend my money on my car, I purchase products not only based on how much performance/cosmetic satisfaction they give me, but also based on the business ethics they abide by. I believe that a company I put my money into should keep the customer's interests first, should not contribute negatively to the Audi community discussion, and should put forth a professional demeanor.
I believe that Ecode has served its customers well. For this, they should be applauded.
However, I believe that David@Eurcode's comments on this forum and AW have contributed negatively to the Audi community discussion. Most tuners who post on forums post only to provide information regarding the products they carry. They do not appear to disrespect forum members or to make boasts and accusations as David@Eurocode has. This not only contributes to the recent negative attitude that has infiltrated the B6 forum, it shows a lack of professionalism.
I do not plan to buy from Eurocode tuning for these reasons. Furthermore, I cannot recommend Eurocode tuning to other Audi owners I know. Those who know me know I wouldn't do this lightly. I usually give businesses the benefit of the doubt, assuming most people make mistakes or have a bad day once in awhile. However, because I show my support for businesses by exchanging money for their products/services, withholding my business is how I show my lack of support for Eurocodetuning. This is my choice, and my choice only. This does not mean that I will never buy Revo or Thermal. There are other tuners who can provide these products to me.
My intention is not to flame anyone in particular, but to provide my opinion on a company. This, as far as I know, this is still allowed on AZ. I hope that I did not offend any member in particular. For those that have brought from David, I also hope that you will not take offense to my thoughts.
Finally, none of what I said should be taken as fact. It is merely as an opinion that I have.
