    Turbo Timer

I know this has been done to death.
I have searched the forums but want to know which TT is the easiest to install and doesn't interfer with the alarm/immobilisor.

I was thinking of the A'PEX TT but am worried about the handbrake cutout switch causing problems.

I wasn't going to put a TT but the K03 stopped working and the K04 is going in.

    Thanks
    Daniel

if installed properly the TT will not interfere with the central locking system or the windows. Just follow the write ups on AW

I did follow and still no work
I thinks its the issue of wiring the blue and black wire from the fuse box. I have the right wire from the box but the wrong one from the ignition sys. It says use the red and black. i did and my windows stopped working so i tried the small red wire and my windows now work but the TT still wont. Then I noticed another red and black wire. Is taht it?

make sure you ground the purple wire and black wire as well or else the tt wont work. my windows dont work when i take the key out and the turbo timer starts. i thought that was normal and if its not , i just put the windows up b4 i start the timer

this happend to me before, infinck is the one that helped me with my problem, if you installed the tt and the windows work now but the timer doesnt. it most likely is and you just need to play with the unit and change around some settings. when i first put this in i realized my windows didnt work, after we got themto work the timer didnt, then i messed with the seting and all of a sudden it works, NOW I DONT MESS WITH THE SETTINGS, im afraid it wont work, ohh and i hope you spliced in the wire for the parking brake, this is a great feature.

has anyone experienced problems locking the doors with the turbo timer running the car?

Don't want to get a turbo timer if I need to lock the doors with the key or wait for the engine to shut down before locking the doors with the remote.

    Thanks

You don't "really" need a TT. It's a nice little convenience if you are a hard driver like me. I don't like waiting either. IF you have the extra $$$ and don't mind divertign to really helpful mods then do it. I've had no problems with mine at all. No interference with the doors windows alarm etc...

My GF lives 40 mins drive (average speed 50mph) from me and trying to explain to her parents when they hear me arrive and open the door for me that I can't come in yet because I have to let the turbo cool down will sound kinda stupid to them.
Plus i'm lazy and can't be bothered sitting in the car until it cools down.
TT is worth the extra $100

So it should not interfere with locking via key fob?

JMG what TT do you have?

I've got my tt rigged to operate the cooling fan in front of the turbo and cat. If hooked up properly everything will still work normally when the car is running on the tt.

Greddy III. You could still just keep the rpms below 3k for the last 2 minutes of your drive to your G/F's. That is sufficient enough for the turbo to cool.

JUST GET a GREDDY III and it will do the job!!!

Follow the tech page on audiworld and you will figure out how the to intall it. I believe you have to tap into 3 wires, one ground n power (not sure, maybe more).

TT is not that a "MUST" but not a bad investment. If you got the extra $100 to throw around, why not!

I was reading on the B6 forum that they need a turbo timer companion or something. Is that for B6's only?

    Blitz

I have the Blitz DCII on this car and I had it on my WRX as well. On the WRX I had some problems with the power locks/alarm not working when the TT was on, but there is no issue on this car.

I say this as I remember that just yesterday the TT stopped working. I assume that it is not connected to the E-break correctly as it will still turn on and read boost, just wont keep the car running. I guess I will be doing the first dis-assembly of my new toy to find the problem.

Really though, it is a good setup and it is attractive to boot (minus the off green lighting)
