well to get your license hear in TN is about $4,000. But that really just depends on how much flight time you have. Thats where it gets expensive, renting the plane and paying for the fuel. John works at our local airport so we just called them up and said we were taking the 152 out and they had it gassed and ready to go. My girlfirends dad and uncle have 3 planes and just got back from and air show and bought 2 more. The maintance on a plane depends on the kind you get, some take more than others. You can also buy a plane fully assembled or you can buy a kit and build it yourself, which is cheaper but takes alot to time and some tools that you might not necessarly have.

I wouldn't want to be the one taking the kit plane out for the first time!

Yeah, I heard that!!! The ones that Franz just ordered, the people are going to build them, then bring them hear. They will build it then test it and make sure everything is working right. They fly them around and stuff too.

Wow, Cool Pics! I used to take lessons in a brown 152 just like that. It was a little scary sometimes. Owning a plane is really really expensive. main reason why the number of licensed pilots is declining. Often a few pilots pony up together and buy a plane to share.

A lot of small airports offer a "discovery flight", a 30 minute tease flight. You get to fly the plane too. Its actually a pretty cool thing to do just for fun one day, and only like $30, a bargain. At my field planes used to start at $52+ per hour, instructors $80 an hour, and this was years ago. It takes 40 hours to get your license so the $$ starts to add up real fast.
