louder diverter valve

i have a forged dv valve, and a evo motorsport intake, i like how it sounds, but its not loud enough...if i get a chip and a boost control, will it be louder? i want it to be as loud as a bov

just open your window and go "PSHHHHHHHH!" when you shift.

You might be alittle louder with the CAI and Forge BPV since you are boosting higher, but nothing close to a BOV. If you want the sound get a BOV and recirc kit. I believe they have the Greddy BOV with recirc kit at ecodetuning.com. Just don't forget the recirc kit.

Nevermind, don't go to ecodetuning.com. I wouldn't recommend giving them any business right now. I'm sure you can get a greddy BOV and recirc parts elseware. Google it. You can see the parts at ecodetuning for reference.

I think there is a Greddy with the rec kit in the classifieds. I have the EVO DV and it is loud and does sort of sound like a BOV.

Have u tried putting it in reverse direction-the forge. Is louder that way

I was going to record some ricer with my MP3 player, then load it to my computer, and burn a CD of it, and play it right as I launch, just to mess with my passengers.

dude, get a chip. i have the forge valve and the evo intake, and with my chip boosting at 22 psi, it sounds like a BOV.. but it doesnt have the negative side effects. i could care less about the sound, i just got the forge valve because it holds boost, the intake however, i dunno how much it really does, sort of an experiment.

The EVO BPV is rather loud as in MKGIY case. But then again his turbo is ridiculous in size also.

Pretty old thread, but ill try anyways.. So I have 01 a4 with unitronic chip st2, front mount, testpipe, ebay metal dv similar to 007 and knn cone filter. I am not happy with my dv noise witch is very quiet any one know why that could be? I tried all the different springs the dv came with and its still pretty quiet. I know dv aren't as loud as a bov but on my 99 a4v I just had the same cone filter, rest was all stock and it was way louder.

Now for your question, you may want to look at a Forge 007, that's a good standard. As for the noise, you have a DV, not a BOV, so its not going to be super loud. A cold air intake will help, but seeing as you already have one (I think) you may have maxed out the sound. Personally, I would not worry about the "noise" I would focus on making the car faster, not sound faster. Do your homework and research, you will be happy if you do. Most guys on here don't buy things for sound or looks (engine wise), so you may get some funny looks.
