making a pc?

I am thinking about getting a pc pretty much just to game on. Right now i have a laptop that can only run games that are like 4 years old. Where is the best place to find good deals on components (since i assume that is the cheapest way to buy)? Also what are some good video cards capable of running games like doom 3 and farcry? thanks in advance guys!

They have the best deals that I have found.

In fact I just got a mobo/chip combo for $319 including tax.

3.0ghz Intel P4 w/ 800mhz fsb

As for graphics cards I usually just go to Best Buy.

www.sharkyextreme.com has good reviews on what gfx cards are out righ tnow.

BTW sharkyextreme has good recommendations for both budget and high-end gameing system componenets. Thats how I figured out exactly waht mobo to get.
