FMIC or DSMIC for a KO3

Are there DSMIC kits available for the B5? If so, is it worth it for a KO3? Or should I just go for the FMIC? I'm not looking for looks, more for performance and a good price.

there's a small FMIC + your stock SMIC kit around, don't remember who sells it though.

A larger intercooler isn't about adding power it's more about keeping the power your making from your other mods. By keeping your intake temps cooler.

Hmm.. well won't everything run more efficiently with cooler intake temps? So you would notice an increase in power over not having one. So in a way it is adding power right?

I would get one if I had a Turbo upgrade, but not gonna spend $1K on 5HP on a Ko3
its your $$$$...if U plan on getting a Turbo upgrade, then go for it

Everyone always talks about "pressure loss" or whatever when upgrading your turbo along side with a FMIC, so wouldn't that be a much bigger issue with just a K03?

i wouldnt get a front mount with a a turbo uprade, if you live in a hotter area and your car is chipped i would consider....

I ran with a K03 & FMIC for a couple of years before I threw a K04 in the car. It was worthwhile having a K03 W/FMIC. Before the FMIC when I just had a chip and exhaust I could do 1 or 2 hard throttle pulls to redline and the (worthless) stock intercooler was so heatsoaked that I could feel a hugh drop in power.

After the FMIC I could do hard throttle pulls to redline with no noticable drop in performance.

I noticed a little bit of pressure loss when I added my FMIC. I was also running APR software at the time. I changed to GIAC. I had a special software file that was written for K03 W/FMIC the car was much stronger with GIAC and FMIC than it ever was with APR WO/FMIC.

When I had my K03 and a .08 bar with my SPP FMIC the car hauled ass. Now I have the K04 and K04 software with FMIC and the car is awesome! If you buy a SPP FMIC and drive out here I'll help you put that baby in for FREE!

you can have dual side mounts on a B5 i will email a video of it to anyone who does not believe me or at least pictures. is it worth it..... NO.... you should save up for a front mount wich is just big enought to flow what you are running and enough for a k04 incase you decide to upgrade.

trust me when i say its an a4, why would someone with an s4 swap bumpers to an a4, i seen the motor, this car is parked in front of hartmann motorsport and is there all the time, it has a4 gauges, a stock a4 5 speed shift knob and all the a4 interior, this is not my car to pull off the bumper and take pics, sorry.
