i went to a track for the first time last night. retama park in san antonio, TEXAs. small park, nothing like arlington park (which i live 5 minutes from), but it was fun. I used my dad's money to bet on horses, and ended up with a net of +$350. yeah dawg!

I'd love to get into it. Once I get money and time...

My brother goes quite a bit to the track down in San Diego.

not necessarily. most of the bets i was making were exacta boxes and superfecta boxes. an exacta is where you pick the top two horses, in order. an exacta BOX is where you pick the top two horses, in ANY order. thus, you're making two bets. i was mostly doing $10 exacta boxes ($20 total). a superfecta is picking the top 4 horses in order, and a superfecta box is picking them in ANY order. there are 24 different combinations for a superfecta box, so in essence you're making 24 different bets of $1, so $24.

my biggest win of the night was a $190 exacta, but that was for a $5 bet. i had bet $10, so i got $380. my other two wins were a $90 trifecta (top three horses) box, and a $50 superfecta box.
