Hahha sucks for you. In the back seat? Do you have cloth or leatherette?? I think cloth would suck even more, but either way its still foul.

Never be a destinatated driver to too drunken friends. I took a guy (friend of a friends) to a party one time, and he drank himself stupid. We had to carry him outside, I said hell no I aint driving him home. My other friend took that sucker home, and he blew chunks all up in his backseat.

Water it down man, then get spray a whole bottle of frebreeze or something. :P

Leather. Front passenger seat. I wiped down everything with a wet cloth so everything is clean. I took carpet clean and cleaned that side of the carpet inside and out. It should be all clean, it just smells. I need to get that smell out.

Use VERY (boiling if possible) hot water to soak the area and a very strong shopvac to pull it out. Do this mutiple times, at least five, and then go to the pet store and get some of the stuff they use for pet urine that has enzymes in it. Also make sure to leave your windows and sunroof open for at least a day. This should take care of it. The most important step is the enzyme solution. I would also recommend buying new mats if possible as this will return the "new car" smell for a little while.

I used to be a detailer and you would not believe what we found in the recovered stolen cars...

Why is the enzymes solution the most important? What does it do? I just use a wet rag to clean everything last night. I think I will try the hot water method today but it's like 100 degrees outside today.

Oh man, sorry to hear that, that's one of the WORST smells! Do anything you can to get it out, the enzyme thing sounds like a good idea. Aarghh!

The enzymes eat all of the matter that you don't get out. These are the things that you smell. If it is 100 degrees out MAKE SURE you leave the windows down. Otherwise the smell will be in there for weeks as it is absorbed into the plastic and fabrics.

I park my car in the garage so I have my windows opened in there. Haven't driven my car out today knowing that the smell will get absorbed in the heat. JetBlue, how do I go about cleaning my seat? The enzymes just work on the carpet right? I just wiped down the seat with a wet towel a few times. I think I am going out to buy some leather treatment stuff in a little bit to help out the problem.

I have done this before. In fact, I was driving. I was going about 40mph up a hill and I started throwing up. Yes, it was caused by some serious parting the night before. Anyways, I have one of those carpet cleaners for your home and it has attachments. I used this for the carpets and seats (this happened in my truck with cloth seat). It worked great, but it still took a couple days for the smell to entirely go away. But, on the bright side, the smell will go away.

The hardest thing to get clean was all the tiny cracks and crevices. I got yak on my stereo, window, dash, seats, floor, seat belts, arm rest, gauges, storage compartments in my doors, cupholder, myself, and other misc. things. If anyone honked in my Audi I would probably kill them. Once again, the smell will go away.

they may have some sort of febreze car formula, if not, the regular stuff is still worth a shot.

There is auto febreeze. It works well. I would spray that liberally to the area in and around the vomit.

Also, it may sound funny, but pet odor remover at the pet stores do an incredible job for any vomit odor left in the carpet around the area of the vomit.

I've done this a few times before and nobody has noticed the smell a week after.

Rich, I bought a bottle of that stuff today and soaked the area of the carpet with it. Hopefully it will go away. I will soak it a little more tomorrow.

That's why you should always have a Yakspout in your car. Speaking of which, how is that guy?

This should help with the odor, Stink-be-gone, but do continue to clean the area thoroughly.

It should work. Keep applying and leave the windows open and it should go away. Oh yeah, and try to mask the hell outta that smell with some vanilla trees or something! Good luck with it!

    LMAOFOTF @ Blake...

Well, my 4 year old yacked in the back seat of my car. I wiped everything down and used a wet vac to clean it up. Then I use hot sopie water and really scrubbed, make sure you get in the cracks and along the side of the seats. Used the wet vac again then loaded up with Fabreez. It worked for me...

Febreze will kill the enzymes that you used previously. It only masks the smell and does not necessarily remove it. The enzymes will take a few days to work.

For the seats, use a brush and warm soapy water followed by a strong shopvac. Make sure that you follow this immediately by some sort of vinyl or lether treament depending on if you have leatherette or leather.

Most importantly make sure that you are patient with the enzymes.

Also, I do not think you have a light colored interior, but if you do you can use Electrical Parts Cleaner to remove spots. Make sure you do a test spot under the seat, but this stuff is awesome for getting spots out of light colored or delicate fabrics.

Just wondering but should I treat my seats if I just wiped it with a wet cloth? I don't think the smell is coming from the seat because I stuck my nose near it and it didn't smell. It's just the carpet. BTW. I soaked the carpet with the enzyme so should I just leave it there to let it dry on its own? I thought I poured too much on it and I used a piece of papertowel to soak it up a bit. I hope this works.

BAKING SODA BAKING SODA BAKING SODA.

DO NOT POUR AND LET THIS OTHER STUFF SOAK INTO YOUR CAR, IT'LL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE.

BAKING SODA WILL DO THE JOB.

SPREAD IT LIBERALLY OVER THE FOULED AREA AND PUT SEVERAL MORE BOXES WITH THE TOP OPEN, THE BAKING SODA STILL IN THE BOX, IN SEVERAL MORE LOCATIONS OF YOUR CAR.

I HOPE YOU HAVEN'T SOAKED TOO MUCH OF THAT OTHER STUFF INTO YOUR SEAT CUSHIONS, BUT WHEN IT DRIES OUT AND YOU HAVE A SICKENING SWEET FABREZE SMELL WITH THE MILDEW MIXED IN, GUESS WHAT, THE BAKING SODA WILL REMOVE THAT TOO.

ALL CAPITAL LETTERS WERE USED TO STRESS THE POINT

I never soaked the seats, just the carpet. The direct on the bottle told me to soak the carpet and let it dry on its own. JetBlue seems to be a pro at this so let see what he has to say about this.

My dad came home from a fishing trip in his new cadillac a while back. The cooler turned over in his trunk and the melted ice water and filleted tuna and tuna blood all soaked thru into his trunk carpet. I thought the car was ruined. After that smell baked in the hot trunk in the sun - yuk. He spread baking soda over the whole mess - about ten pounds in this case b/c there was a lot of spill. Several days later the smell was entirely gone - and beforehand it was ripe to lay the least. I considered it a miracle.

Oh ya, and I don't like the smell of Fabreze anyway

i asked this lady who used to own a janitorial company what she'd use. she told me she's a cat lady, 5 cats and 2 dogs. when they smell up the house and if its muddy, she just puts baking soda on it and it will dry it up and take the smell out. i suppose she eventially gets rid of it, but i didn't ask.

I would not worry about the seats. Just make sure to use vinyl or leather treatment. The baking soda will probably work as well, but I have never tried it. I would use that as a secondary treatment in a few days.

You should just let it dry on it's own. It may take a while inside the car.

so what i gather, hot soapy water, followed by a shop vac clean up, then a drenching of fabreez, followed by hot soapy water, followed by shop vack clean up then enzyms an a good dousing of bakeing soda...

    that should do it...

Bought some frebrezz tonight and sprayed it on. Seems to be working pretty good. Let's seem what it is like tomorrow. Hopefully it will take care of it.
