custom piping, es tuning mufflers, and mid resonator removed...

    and it sounds VERY NICE!

very nice and deep and very rumbly during ignition and idle...

HOWEVER... it is LOUD AS A MOTHER!!!

    omg... its so loud...

when i rode in hyper speeds car it wasnt NEARLY as loud.

    i dont understand why...

i think it probably has to do with the fact that he has a 6sp and i have a CVT...

    i dunno

im gonna drive around a few days but i am 90% sure that im gonna go back and tell them to weld the stock resonator back in...

do you guys think that having the stock resonator will reduce the sound? im really hoping that it will reduce the volume cuz right now its just way too loud for my tastes...

    --edit--

i have 2.25 in piping starting from the downpipe... it splits off into a y but from the downpipe all the way to the mufflers its all 2.25 in piping...

It's because the resonators were removed.

I have Ecode Testpipe and Thermal Exhaust w/ Downpipe and it's loud.... especially around 3k or so... it's quieter in the higher rpm's and lower ones... but that spot it just seems to drone... but overall I love it... no complaints.

But back to the topic at hand, I do think it's mostly because you had your resonator's removed... I bet it's even louder than what I'm running because of that...

    howzit going fong,
I guess you dont need my magaflow muffers. hehe, How loud is it? I got my milltek installed and really llike the sound, It has a low bassy tone that is civilized and mellow, Its not loud at all but noticable. Your setup sounds good, post some pics to!

i have 2.5" piping all the way back and 2.25 to the mufflers. thats odd how u think its loud though... hey how about some pics? did u keep the vibrant tips or go with new ones? the sound will definiteoly deaden once u slap the resonators back in dont worry

2.5 shouldn't be that bad. 2 and a quarter should be even quieter. maybe you should try switching mufflers. i think i'm gonna hack up my neuspeed and go with supersprint mufflers myself. not that the neuspeed was loud, but the noise from the SS alone is worth the trouble. not the mention quad tips.

i think imma go get the resonators put back in today...

its just way too loud for my tastes...

i think people can even hear it when im talkin on my cell phone in the car...

i think it might have to do with the CVT...

the CVT maintains rpms around 2-3k

i dont think the CVTs like revving high...

and 2-3k seems to be the window where most droning occurs...

at any rate... im definitely gonna go get those resonators put in...

It most be, because of the smaller piping.

Please take some sound clips before you reinstall the resonators back.
and some pic's of the downside of the car.

I think you hit it on the head here, CVT must keep rpms in zone of most droning. Although I find worst droning occurs between 2.8k - 3.8k.

    well...

    hmmm...

i wonder if putting the resonators back on will aid in reducing the droning? id really like to keep these mufflers...but if it doesnt work out... then im not sure what im gonna do...

I think the resonators will decrease the droning and noise level. Whether the lower levels are acceptable to you... But seems like the best thing to do at this point. Good luck!

    well i really hope so...

the noise is getting a bit annoying...

im really hoping that putting the resonators back will reduce the noise back to a bearable level...

    hey alex..

if this resonator thing doesnt work id be more than happy to sell my mufflers to you...

i paid so much money to get this done and im REALLY FRUSTRATED and if i cant get it to work then id love to get some money back...

and you heard jeffs car... it sounds SICK! not too loud but nice and low and rumbly..

it just doesnt seem to wanna cooperate with my CVT...

so if the resonators dont work... then lemme know if you're interested... cuz i just wanna get some of my money back...

i hope it works out for you too...the resonators should help. it should help me from buying a next exhaust too...sigh too much money.

try the resonators first and it should quiet it down though

    i havnt tried that yet...

but this morning as i was driving to work it doesnt seem that loud anymore...

all weekend i had the oem exhuast in my trunk and i had the rear seats down...

i think that probably made it a lot louder. i took everything out last night and put the rear seats back up...and this morning it still droned a little bit but with the rear seats up the sound is significantly less.

Dude, you didn't mention this! Yeah sealing the trunk will help a lot! Also, give the mufflers a week or two to break in. Drive it hard, flow lots of exhaust and the sound should be reduced. Or at least you'll be more used to it. No seriously, should be less loud in a coupla weeks. Don't do anything drastic. Hope it works out.
