So this is my 3rd Audi, 2nd with these type of wheels. My previous A6 didn’t really have a huge brake dust problem, but my older S5 and this S7 are crazy dirty after one day of driving. Other than finding some low dust pads, do you have any advice on easy cleaning and dust prevention?
I’ve been using Sonax to clean and tried the Armor All low brake dust spray, but it caused my pads to stick.

not much on reducing the brake dust but I would say clean them up ceramic coat them and it will be much easier to clean up.

here are some rim coatings and sealants

    Fictech Rims Ceramic Coating

or after each wash hit them up with Sonax Rims Shield

Hey Phil, fast question for you. I just purchased a new 2020 Q7 with lux package for my wife, which has black Valcona leather seats. She wears a lot of sunscreen (zinc oxide), and I'm constantly cleaning it off so it doesn't permanently stain the leather.

Unfortunately, I left an armrest uncleaned for about a week, and after trying to remove the sunscreen with Leatherique Prestine Clean + a horsehair brush, there is some remaining residue that I can't remove. The residue is shinier than the matte leather, but not colored. I'm assuming it's some kind of oil.

I tried some mild dish soap cut with distilled water, which helped, but not a lot. I want to completely remove the stain so I can ceramic coat the leather and prevent further mishaps.

Any advice on what to use? I do have some Rejuvenator Oil I could try, but not sure if that would do anything.

I just picked up a S6 rear diffuser. It's in great shape, but I want the rear diffuser to have a gloss black look. What is the best product to give it a high gloss black shine?

    You can try

    Nanolex Interior Cleaner
    or Nextzett Cockpit Premium.....

If it's stubborn use the Nextzett Deep Plastic Cleaner (if you go with this option make sure you use it sparingly and use the brush but gently.

You may need to get it painted gloss black to get a true gloss black look.

New to me 2014 RS5 Cab and want to get some feedback on the products that I was thinking about using on the interior. I purchased a detailing brush set and have some Mcguires interior detailer that I was going to use on the dash and center console. Also was planning on using Lexol for the leather to keep it clean and in good shape. Does anyone have any experience with these products?

I have not used Lexol, but the reviews are very positive.

Need some info on interior carbon-fiber trim, specifically in a 2019 TT RS. It's "lacquered" I guess is the term so it looks like it's coated in a clear coat of some sort. I'm not sure how to protect it, primarily from UV rays. I understand in the long run this type of trim can turn a bit yellow.

I am planning on using Gyeon Preserve on most of the vinyl/rubber/plastic trim in the car. I have Vynlex from my previous car which finishes a bit glossy, so I might use that on the glossier plastic bits (red trim around the seats) instead of Preserve, as preserve tends to darken. The previously mentioned products tho should not be used on transparent surfaces, so I'm worried it shouldn't be used on the clear coat type material of the carbon fiber.

There's also a more rubber than plastic feeling material on the dash, I'm hoping Gyeon Preserve works alright on that as it's a material I haven't really come across.

Also, is the metal in the interior actually metal (I realize how dumb that sentence sounds). But it's hard to tell if its silver-painted plastic, clear-coated aluminum, or bare metal... (the area around the gear shift for example)

For the RS5 interior I would go with

Nextzett Cockpit Premium and Nextzett Leathercare

Nappa leather seats in Magma, I used Lederpfledge cleaner on the center console arm rest to see if I could get a faint spot out. It seems to have worked but my towel had red on it.

Will the red leather rub off with all cleaners or do I need to get a new one? Have always used this cleaner but only on black leather. Just got this CPO and I want to clean the red leather.

    Thanks

Do detailing products have a shelf life? I have some griot's car wash solution that I just found while clearing out my storage area and I think it's about 9 years old. Toss and buy some more? I'm likely to use it now that I'm back in a place where I can actually hand wash my car.

9 years is a bit old but if you open it up and it doesn't smell funky or has "separated" it should be ok to use.

Thanks for the response! I had only briefly seen the bottle in the box... I went back to it while unpacking and it had fully separated... out of the bottle through the sides of the cap which must have come slightly unscrewed while in storage and all over the box lol... luckily it was fairly contained

You should have a body shop clearcoat it if you want to have a gloss look all the time. Probably wouldnt cost too much either.
