I recommend if the wheels are new to coat use Swissvax cleaner fluid and swissvax autobahn.

If they are not so new or need to be cleaned up use p21s wheel cleaner gel, followed by cleaning them up with a clay bar then doing the swissvax treatment.

A good polish and sealant would work as well.

    Menzerna, Einszett polishes etc.

    Re: Ask Detailer's Domain

I've got a good one for ya Phil.

I've got a Brilliant Black 04 USP, with some paint problems. I am not sure if it is water spots, or if it is actuall paint problems. No matter what I do, they are still there. They are very uniform, and are just on the hood only. I have tried a Few of the Meguire's Professional products, along with some buffing pads, diffrents ppi's and had a little luck. I've gotten the swirls to go away, but these spot are still here.

I have a porter cable, 3 pads, yellow, green and black. And polishes/cleaner wax/swirl remover, and yellow wax.

What products would you suggest hopefully to clean the paint, and then keep it glossy and protected? TIA

    Re: Ask Detailer's Domain

Lusso Glass Polish has been formulated to be safe for all types of tinted window films and is also safe for interior leather trim. The unique 360 degree fine mist sprayer will work when used upside down or sideways and will not leak or dribble on the dash.

Lusso Glass Polish is a concentrate. Mix 4 to 1 with water for normal conditions, new cars or heavy smokers will benefit from a 2 to 1 ratio.

    and

Lusso Auto Bathe® is based on a non-phosphate, pH balanced hair shampoo formula, without all the extras found in hair care products. The net result is a safe cleaner which loosens and removes dirt from your paint, but rinses off quickly and easily without leaving a finish dulling residue on your paint. Highly concentrated Auto Bathe will not strip the wax. You can actually feel the difference. Dirt is gone, wax remains, the shine is deep.

I have to say I've been using both for sometime now and they are both amazing products.

The Lusso Glass is great cause its safe on tint and the Auto bathe is super gentle and a great wash to upkeep your car, it won't strip waxes.

I've a question. I know that white cars are not inherently show-stopping. But when I wash/wax/clay/polish etc my white B6 it just does not look as awesome as it seems like it should. Is there anything I can do to give the white some BLING?

working on another order (I think I am addicted to supplies!) and no longer see the Adam's In & Out Spray listed, I really like the results from it, will you be getting it back in stock or is it gone forever? Anything else you recommend that would give similar results?

    jetta,

unfortunately in and out is on a break till they revise some components for VOC Compliant.

for now engine covers I do that with black wow and trim I like using Swissvax Pneu with a tire sponge on rubber bits, the hard to reach areas will still be hard to reach though.

i see you're recommending Swissvax cleaner fluid and swissvax autobahn for new wheels. are these the best available products for cleaning/polishing wheels.

have you come across any other reliable polishers/sealants

still looking at how to get the shine back in this knob:

(not a pic of my actual shift knob)

It's the OEM knob for a 25quattro S4. It's lost it's shine around the numbering and lettering. How can I safely polish this without ruining it? I don't even know what it's made of.

i'm going to be ordering the adam's PC essentials kit, and i'm wondering what i should use to get the scratches out of my door? they are light scratches like something rubbed up against it, and you can't see them unless the sun hits it just right. Will i need a compound or just the revive that's included in the kit?

    Re: Ask Detailer's Domain

    Phil

I'll be placing an order soon, today or Monday. 1 question for you.

I'm interested on using the swissvax autobahn. Most of my clients have asked for a wax than can protect their wheels and make it easier to remove brake dust.

when polishing a wheel I'll clean with P21S wheel cleaner, P21S polishing soap, and then the sealant/wax. Do I still need the Swissvax cleaner fluid ?

    TIA

    Phil or any one else,

I plan on getting some Menzerna SIP. My question is can I get away with using Adam's Revive Polish as a follow up or would I need to use PO85RD or could I even use the Menzerna Micro Polish?

    Thanks

p21s polishing soap should be used on non clear coated surfaces. on surfaces that are clear you can use the cleaner fluid then the autobahn.

so this is how we do it.

wash the wheels with p21s, then clay them, then cleaner fluid, then autobahn.

    Re: Ask Detailer's Domain

I like this wheel wax alot it does last a long time but remember you have to stay on top of it just like the others.

I would have to say on any wheel wax though if you decide to hit it with a wheel cleaner to clean the brake dust off you will probably remove some if not all the wax.

when you do have a wheel wax on the car I would wash the wheels more frequently with your car wash then put another coat on maybe after every other wash.

    Thanks again Phil.

just before I placed my ordered.. I forgot I'll be running out of FMJ.
But what about the 106FA. I still have an unopened bottle of 106FF but I'm curious about this one.

What are the differences? and if I get it, how long will the unopened 106FF bottle can last in a cool tempered area.

    Thanks again.
