The kit looks nice, but I can't say I've ever seen anyone run it. Most people go for Stoptechs or the Porsche calipers and whatever rotors. I don't know why this kit is overlooked, unless there was a bad experience with them. The price looks pretty reasonable. I wonder why the calipers say RPI all over them when they're Wilwood calipers though.

You should go ask on www.vwvortex.com I know there's some local VW guys that are running wilwood kit's I think they might be more popular with the VW tuning seen so maybe you can get some feedback over there.

many tuners in the euro scene go w/ brembo/stoptech mainly for the name. while wilwood is a brand name it's not as common to the scene i would say as brembo and stoptech in the world of daily driving. wilwood's have been track/street proven as well as the others and work just as well but at a fraction of the cost. i would say that out of the many owners that go w/ the BBK setups, a majority choose the name for more of a boasting topic rather than on a practicality/budget basis. Hence, comes the rotora kits. i would say do your research before making such a large purchase. if the name is what you're looking for, than more power to you. if it's functionality at the best price i'm definately sure there are others such as wilwood that top out brembo & stoptech.

on the aspect of wilwood, i know kit's that have been made for the mkiv GTI and even a 14" front and rear kit made for the new e46 that have been great performers and at a very considerable lower cost than brembo/stoptech.

so ultimately, research before you spend thousands of dollars. consider what your use will be of the product. and of course lastly, keep in mind your budget to practicality ratio.

    that's just my opinion :)

Wilwood makes some very nice stuff.
Keep in the the 11" setup of theirs uses rotors smaller than stock. Probably not a great option..

Well put...Wilwood makes a terrific kit at a great price. If budget is your goal either piece together a boxster set (usually around $800 if you source everything well) or get the Wilwood kit. For about half the price of a Brembo set why not? Quality is relatively close.

i have the wilwood kit ....but i have yet to put it through very hard baking since i pretty much just broke them in.....my friend has it on his 16v gti.....he has no complaints and when i sat in it....it was more than enough stopping power for me
the brakes feel good but like i said...i have yet to put it through some tests.....

the calipers say wilwood on them....don't know why it has RPI on it on the site....well at least mine has wilwood on it
