I was thinking of selling my S4

Until I read the latest European Car mag. I wanted to get a 996 C4S instead. After reading that they had blown motors on both 996's used by the magazine I reconsidered. Apparently the dealer had more than a few motors in crates because they expected more failures. Needless to say I reconsidered.

I guess no manufacturer is safe from problems.

Yeah, I would be pissed to spend $75K on a car and then find out they have a bunch of spare motors sitting around because they know of massive failures.

They are different cars. What ever you do stay away from the H2. The interiors suck big time. The Escalade is the perfect long distance/road trip car. It is a PITA to park though and because it is so large it ends up with a lot of door dings. It probably has the best ride of any car I have ever been in period.

The Toureg is more of a bad ass off road machine with great road manners as well. It has the same drive line as the S4 and the interior quality is as nice as the new Range Rover. There is plenty of power in both trucks, but the Toureg feels closer to a performance car while the Escalade is more of a luxury vehicle.

I think the Escalade is the modern interpretation of an American luxury car. The Toureg is the European version of a big American SUV. You cannot go wrong with either one. I just got my digital camera back so I will post some pictures soon.

i was talking to a toureg owner at the dealership and apparently they have their share of problems too. i'd still rock a v10 diesel toureg anyday.

back to the topic, you gotta at least be glad that they have spare engines in preparation. remember the coilpack shortage?
