A Visit to Quattro GmbH - Audi Forum, Ingolstadt

For those Stateside folks who may still not know, Quattro GmbH is the Audi subsidiary responsible for special production vehicles. Cars such as the RS4 and RS6 have been built and developed by the division, as are custom tailored examples where Audi buyers choose special colors, materials and patterns in order to individualize their Audis.

Though largely dreamt about by North American consumers, Quattro GmbH is available in the USA only if you care to pay a premium to Audi and order a car, or if you manage to import some of the special equipment that can be purchased in Europe.

For those who want to personalize their Audis, Quattro GmbH merchandise is the rarest of the rare. You won’t find much of this on even the most obscure ETKA program.

Though the main office of Quattro GmbH can be found at Audi’s Neckarsulm plant, an office and showroom can also be found above the delivery center within the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt. While in town, we stopped by for a visit and were impressed with what we saw.



Outside the office, we found an A8L with custom interior and exterior colors, 20-inch polished wheels, a rear seat-mounted refrigerator and more. Next to it was a new “S-Line” A3 3-door as well as an A4 Cabriolet, also with special colors.

Within the office, Quattro GmbH maintains swatches of fabrics and leathers as well as sample steering wheels and seats. We spotted Recaros with custom leather and sport wheels and shift knobs swathed in Alcantara.

In the corner, those looking for more information can pick up factory catalogs for each model range, as well as the Quattro GmbH-built models like the RS6.

The office is in the far corner of the upper level of the delivery center and might be easily missed. Walk up the stairs and past the Audi Store and you can hardly miss the custom models on display.
