    2007 Audi TT steering wheel - fits?

    Yes and unlike the RS4 wheel you can still keep the multifunction buttons! It sounds like an expensive mod though because you need to buy more than just a new wheel.

    Yeah...the airbag is the expensive part......but i have this theory about modding:

    - ANything that you buy that you put on your car, usually ends up being for other people's enjoyment since its on the outside of the car (aside from performance upgrades). So who are you really modding your car for? other ppl? or yourself?

    So $1000.00 for something that when i drive i will see 100% or $1000.00 for rims that i will only see when im walking to or from my car......?

    Here's some pics of the TT MKII S-line MFSW in my car. I have a B6, so the conversion was very extensive. With the B7, it should be plug and play. The only thing you need to do is re-assign three of the wires in the sw harness for multi function to work in your car. The TT is wired slightly differently.

    I paid about $600 for the wheel from Craig at miramarvwaudi.com and got the airbag for about $300 off ebay.de. Do a search on ebay.de for the wheel, they come up from time to time. Going rate is between $300-$600. Do the search under "TT MKII Sport Lenkrad". The wheel is also available with shifter paddles (Schaltwippen).









    The wheel does not come with the multicolor stitching. Let me know if you have any questions.

    ^^^Yes, the steering wheel controls work. The TT pin configuration is a little different from the A4, so you need to re-assign three of them in the sw harness. You can use the left scroll wheel to change radio stations, scroll thru your phonebook and change tracks on CDs, SD cards and Ipod. The mode button changes between audio and phone. The right scroll wheel controls volume. The left button is Push to Talk. You can dial numbers by voice or speak the number and it will dial on Bluetooth. Very cool indeed!

    that is actually all the stock functions of the B7 wheel...in that order as well. you have a B6 right?

    I'd just assume push the standard wheel and cut out the potential issues which are bound to happen.

    S-line has air leather and in some cases various color stitching. Like I mentioned this will be hard since it's all custom ordered probably through Quattro GmbH.

    OK, here's the procedure to rewire the harness for the TT MKII MFSW. The harness has part # 8J0 971 589 B.

    MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE DOING ANY WORK WITH THE AIRBAG!

    The 12 pin plug connector (yellow) on the TT MKII harness needs to have three of its wires re-assigned. Open the cover on the back of the harness plug. Looking at the plug connector from behind as if you were going to plug it in, there are 2 rows of slots, which we will number
    1-2-3-4-5-6
    7-8-9-10-11-12

    3 through 6 are for the airbag - DO NOT TOUCH!

    7 = Brown
    8 = Yellow (horn)
    9 = Purple
    10 = Red

    1, 2, 11, 12 are empty.

    Push out the purple lock in the harness and then release the appropriate wire to be re-assigned.

    You need to move the following wires:
    move the Brown wire from 7 >to> 1
    move the Yellow wire from 8 >to> 2
    move the Red wire from 10 >to> 8

    All MFSW controls including the horn should now work. You may also need to trim the tabs from the sides of the plug to be able to insert into the S/C ring socket. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

    I am trying to install this wheel in my car and I can get the purple lock to release but I can't then release any of the wires from the connector. What do you do after you take out the purple lock to release the wires from the connector so you can relocate them?

    I've done this conversion also, for a b7 its alot easier of an install than a b6

    the b7, you just need to rewire some crimps...pretty simple.

    I made if... Remove the purple lock on the side. Push on the smallest part and pull it out. Then put a needle on the front of it in the rectangle that belongs to the pin you want to remove. Press it towards the pin and pull out the cable.

    No...the only a4 tiptronics that came with paddles were the s-line tiptronic cars, my car is a non-sline...the paddles on this steering wheel were already on there. its a tt sline steering wheel. I added the TID paddle extentions, they are not stock. adding paddles to any of the non-paddle shifter steering wheels, would not be worth the effort. just buy one of the steering wheels with paddle shifters. tt sline, tts, rs6, a4 sline tip, etc.


    i get mixed reviews, some of my friends (who mostly drive manual)...like it, and sometimes wish they had tip...but if you plan on doing alot of engine mods, and plans for high hp...then it can be limiting. can you beef up the trans...yes....is it cheap to do...no. for everyday driving and my style...it suits me well.

    I´ve 2007 B7 without MFSW and like to install TT MKII MFSW to it.
    I have steering wheel 8J0 419 091 G and slipring 4E0 953 541 B.

    But the connector from wheel won´t fit into sliprings connector. Do I have to mod TT harness (8J0 971 589 B), or is it easier way to buy B7:s harness; to MFSW and mod it like this story told earlier?

    Or is it true to change some wires in B7?

    I´m very pissed of because local dealer won´t help at all...they sell only parts...;)

    Could anyone who has done this retrofit to owm B7, write details or e-mail me straight: [email protected]

    Please, help me in this problem.
