    Thanks for that info. Swapping wires is familiar to me;) But the connector itself is the "problem".

    Which harness is the right one for my B7 and for TTs MKII MFSW?

    8J0 971 589 B won´t fit, which came with that wheel.

    Which harness you guys have used?

    Does 4F0 971 589 C sound right to you?

    Sounds nice.

    What might be difference of those two harnesses; C or A?

    The main thing is make sure and have a safe retrofit. And easy to change wires/connectors, they seems so small!!!

    By the way, how those connectors will be taken out?

    It seems there´s no purple lock in this connector....

    Small needles or what?

    I know I'm being a jerk here for ruining others business, but for that price you should be able to get 2. I've sold them as low as $750 w/ airbag, brand new, air leather, s-line.

    Yep,

    is the harness`es ground wire mod like re-wire with Y-block ground to A4:s own harness?

    I mean the doubleing the ground wires(in drawn picture).

    BTW, does the light will work in MFSW too?

    WOW! how great are your pictures!! Love the car.. so am I right to assume you have an A4? I just bought a 2007 black sline cabriolet and would love to put those pedals on it. I have been all over the place asking and nobody really has an answeron these pedals . I had seen them on the TT... I live in north San Diego and it sounds like you're local.. Miramar Audi? Where do I get these pedals and is it tough to install?

    Would love any assistance..should mention I am a girl with limited install capabilities

    Back to business;)

    Finally I got A4 MFSW harness, so I changed connector between A4 and TT´s harness.

    TT harness has already those two grounds and suitable connector to horn.

    So I took out all wires out and changed the yellow 16 pin connector.

    Now it fits into A4 MFSW slipring and it´s ready to install the TT wheel to my A4;)

    Now it rocks!!

    The TT wheel is in my A4 now;) Loov it!!

    Volume control, station/track control works fine, but mode-button and illumination won´t work...

    Also when you push volume or track-buttons down, nothing happens. I assume that mute works that way?

    It´s small problem, but if anyone can help me, I´ll be very pleased;)

    Sorry, just saw this today. Yes, I did the power sunshade in my car. Comes in handy with a black on black car!

    Digging up an old thread but I'm after some info, if anyone can help?

    I'm going to hook my air ride up to the paddles on the TTS wheel I've bought. I've made the wiring changes in this thread as described, but I'm not sure which wires relate to the paddles... apparently there are only 2 & the car ECU does the rest of the process, so wiring these up to my EasyStreet controller should be pretty easy.

    I guess I'll have to buy a multimeter as this should be easy to work out! However, any ideas chaps?

    Sorry this is old ground guys but i'm in need of some help/advice.
    I've upgraded my steering wheel and airbag from the usual b7 MFSW to a FBMFSW with circular bag as in the pictures.

    I've followed the guide above
    But my question is, have i missed something?

    My result is that the horm is working and the illuminations are working, but the airbag light is on and the MF buttons are not working, only need the stereo ones.
    Have i done something wrong, do i need a re-code or a new harness?

    The part numbers for the bag and harness
    airbag is either:
    8JO 880 201 J 6PS or 8JO 880 201 L 6PS (sticker is partly gone)
    harness:
    8J0 971 589 F

    Any ideas as this is getting on my wick!

    ***MF'ing SUCCESS!!! Relocating the 3 wires on the Airbag Wiring Harness "Orange/Plug" was a ROYAL P.I.T.A.!!! Must have taken me at least 2 hours with some brief pauses wanting to give up thinking it was becoming impossible... Now EVERYTHING is working on the Steering Wheel (Horn, Shift Paddles, Lighting, Volume, Skip, Handsfree, etc...) ROCK N' ROLL... AND BIG THANK YOU FOR THE WIRING INTEL***

    2008 Audi A4 3.2 Automatic
    4 Spoke Multi-Function Steering Wheel > 2009 Audi A3 3-Spoke S-Line Multi-Function Steering Wheel

    The Stock A4 (B7) 4 Spoke Airbag has a Purple/Yellow Airbag Wiring Harness Plug
    The 3 Spoke Airbag has a Orange/Yellow Wiring Plug

    The plugs have different side tabs but fit and click in securely just the same. I was afraid to file down the sides of the plug and considered re-pinning a Purple/Yellow plug or the idea that maybe I could sway out the A4 Clockspring for an A3 Clockspring (The clocksprings are not compatible). So I took out my Swiss Army knife and carefully filed off the side tabs of the Orange/Yellow Airbag Wiring Harness Plug this afternoon and it clicks into place perfectly. Happy to finally have the new S-Line 3 Spoke Steering Wheel on, and looking forward to a drive around tonight...

    Before (4 Spoke Steering Wheel with 4 Spoke Airbag)

    I don't think the color of your new wheel goes well with the rest of your interior but 3 spoke > 4 spoke.

    I think it's the light in that photo. The Sun here is strong during the day. The wheel and my interior are both black. In person it looks like it matches perfectly. Love the new wheel.

    So I installed the TTS wheel, spliced and diced the cable like in the diagram and nothing works, controls, lights, horn, not even "my one touch roll down windows..."I want to note that when I first got the wheel I just installed it, saw that the harness does not fit so I left it out for the day. I know I have to reset the airbag light but would that cause the whole unit to be non-functional? Since seeing is believing: RS3 Shifter and TTS Wheel

    i don't recall it being as simple as splicing wires. you actually have to repin the harness in the correct order for it to work. that said, i've never done it myself, i've contacted Alex@Europrice for his custom harness. maybe give him a try?

    as for no power to windows, that's not related to the steering wheel. did you short something out?

    Figured it out. My original ground wire was actually two wires so I split them to create 2 grounds which then caused everything to malfunction. I combined them again and then added two grounds, if this makes sense.. And everything is peachy. :) everything works controls horn lights. My one touch windows got reset somehow, but nothing VCDS can't fix. No need to repin the harness just use the wire diagram in this forum and do not split the original ground wire.

    7-8-9-10-11-12

    3 through 6 are for the airbag - DO NOT TOUCH!

    7 = Brown
    8 = Yellow (horn)
    9 = Purple
    10 = Red

    1, 2, 11, 12 are empty.

    Push out the purple lock in the harness and then release the appropriate wire to be re-assigned.

    You need to move the following wires:
    move the Brown wire from 7 >to> 1
    move the Yellow wire from 8 >to> 2
    move the Red wire from 10 >to> 8

    All MFSW controls including the horn should now work. You may also need to trim the tabs from the sides of the plug to be able to insert into the S/C ring socket. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

    I know I am reviving a very old thread but I am in the process of installing a TTS flat bottom wheel into my B7 S4 Avant.
    For some reason the wires on my car are different.
    #7 is black
    #8 is Brown
    #9 is Dark Blue
    #10 is Red (same)

    And I had an impossible time taking the pins out of the harness.
    Used a needle in the tiny hole and it released the pin but not completely.
    I pulled pretty hard but I'm afraid if I pull any harder I will break the pin and then I'm screwed.

    Any advice guys?

    So I grabbed a different harness from a wreckers and was able to get the pins out of it to make this modifications.
    I even did the Y ground as described in the diagram.
    But after I put everything back together the HORN blared non stop!
    What the fxxx?????

    Gave up and ordered the harness from Alex... fingers crossed that it will go smooth from here on in.

    So I'm in the process of doing this to my B7 RS4......the re-pinning makes sense but I don't know if the wires are the same colors. I'm confused by the repining of the connector and filing tabs to make the TT harness work VS. the "modified A4 harness" thing....... which works or what's best?? FYI Alex from Europrice REFUSES to provide ANY HELP other than mentioning he Has a harness adapter that he REFUSES TO SELL unless you bought the wheel and airbag form him for $1500......... for liability reasons of course.

    Any help from those who've had success is GREATLY appreciated.
    Sepang Blue 2016 8v S3 on H&R Super Sport Springs and 19x8.5" Alzor 020 (LMReps) and dark tint... simple and still turns heads.

    Hi, has anyone know a thread about Retrofiting our B7/B8 steering wheel with a B9, TT or newer steering wheels?

    If you can get the wiring diagrams for B9 wheel it’s not too hard to sort out. The air bag will likely be part of the problem solving I don’t know the b9 but B7 has 2 stage air bag.

    well, I have not found a thread that properly discuss this retrofit, just a lot of youtube info where they show and sells (aliexpress mainly) a kind of swtich between the multifunction plug and the yellow airbag plu in the newest steering wheel/airbag systems

    Since the airbags system are so different, still I have doubts about if the TT steering wheel/airbag deploys properly in out B7/B8 if there is an accident.. ?

    2 stage air bag are required on 2 stage air bag system. Once you have the correct items wired in the correct way, function of the device just does what it does when the signal is present.

    VCDS will allow a few changes in how they deploy. But that’s more of a preference/ other mods kinda thing.

    I am interested to install a B9 steering wheel to my B8 2011 but I have not been able to find how to do it, just some short threads about that MF buttons will not work.

    I found youtube info about a Switch simulator that seems fix this but (goes between the MF black plug and the yellow big adapter), but not sure if there is something else

    Maybe someone knows a way or thread shows this and make the MF buttons work?
