Huh? How do you rebuild a K03?

If you blow your turbo, you're going to have to replace it completely. Also, you turbo should last a long, long time. Turbo failure is very rare in the Audi.

I'm over 105K right now. Running strong, no major maintenance items to speak of.

What happened to your TBs? I've had the bored one from TAP since about 30k.

And I've never had any MAF issues. I'm convinced that MAF issues can be related to running K&N filters.

Oops, I think they're talking about the Timing Belt, but I was thinking they meant Throttle Body.

BTW - I would recommend everyone do their timing belt before 70k. There's no point in pushing it just to save a couple miles. It's an expensive fix if it goes.

Yeah, do your Timing Belt ASAP!

Mine's at about 69K and I did mine around 60K or so. Starting to make a weird noise now, which is either coming from the tensioner or water pump. Had the WP replaced with the TB job so it's kind of odd...

i dont think theyre covered under warrenty. but tensioners are, so if you "wear out" your tensioner, wink, wink theyll have to take off the t-belt to get to it any ways. When they do this, tell em to put on the new t belt. This is what they did with my car. It saved me mucho dollars. I only paid for the price of the belt. Labor was covered under my old warranty(mine just ended too). I walked out paying only 50 bucks(deductable) for a new t belt and tensioner.

thats sounds a little high. if i remember right, and if i didnt do what i did, the price of the t-belt replacement at the dealer was gonna be around 600 bucks. But yes, no matter what kind of service your having done at an audi dealer, they always offer you hot naked chicks. Its just part of owning an audi.

I totally agree. Mine went on my Tacoma and the dealer told me not to put in a KN again or he wouldn't fix it under warrranty.

What about the K&N messes with the MAF? I just put one in and my check engine light came on then went away. Owning this car has been like being on a rollercoaster. I love the car but the ups and downs are interesting. I'm saving for the timing belt.

Compared to a couple of guys, my car's just a baby. It has nearly 104K on it now.

BTW, my Mk2 I have for sale has a little over 135K on it and has never even had the head off. Everything still running as strong as ever. I did have the lifters replaced when I added a Neuspeed cam, but that's all the engine work it's ever had.

BTW. if you're interested in a second car, check out the classifieds... Sorry, I just had to plug my Mk2.
