a little confused about chipping...

A bunch of you are using 1.2BAR or greater on your chip. My local tuner said it wasn't possible without changing the Fuel Pressure Regulator. How are you able to bypass the need for the FPR? I want to ask my tuner to up my boost (I'm currently at 1.1BAR)

i have the GIAC 1.2 bar chip...

its the standard chip and SUPPOSEDLY it pushes the car to 1.2...or spikes at 1.2...

which according to my calculations is approximately 18psi...

(i used 15psi = 1 bar)

i have NEVER spiked at 18psi...the highest ive seen it go is about 16...

but then again my car is CVT so that probably makes a big difference... but yah...i dunno

im not even sure that this helps...but just wanted to share what little experience i have...

if u wanna see what it looks like.. imagine the steering column wrapped in a ralphs plastic bag + masking tape + a boost gauge

well thats just the temporary setup...

i have a few ideas for the fiberglass pods...

i actually finished the duals... but i didnt like how they turned out...

i think imma try another fiberglass method...

B6's come with a Bosch 4 Bar FPR. You don't need to change anything.

lol. i have an idea eric. how about you make a hat with the boost guage hanging down from the cap. so everytime u want a boost guage u can just put on your hat and BAM right in front of your face!

i thought i did! actually i thought we ran returnless fuel lines which is why FPRs dont even WORK on our cars...

somebody correct me? silverturbo guy up there said we have a 4bar bosche one...is this right?

to answer the question, B6's do not use FPRs. you have to upgrade to larger injectors. of course, everyone says that our cars cant go above 195hp on the stock turbo unless you do so, but it's also been debated.

this has probably been covered a billion times cuz i remember seeing posts about it but i never bothered to read them...

but having stage 1 software and larger injectors... does that accomplish anything compared to stage 1 software and stock injectors?

nope. you need the software to take advantage of the bigger injectors.

its like running a k04 or bigger turbo on regular software...sure it might be marginally better but you wont feel too much difference without a change in software.
