Avant owners, how do you close your hatch?

I've been closing my hatch by pressing on the license plate, to avoid touching the paint. Scanning through clairparts, I stumbled upon this device.trunk handle Clicky

Would this trunk handle put too much stress on the two screw holes? Anything product similar to this that you've encountered?

$19 for that??? just buy a piece of aluminum, cut it, bend it, drill it, and bolt it.

Yeah, it does seem pricey for a cheesy piece of metal. Foo's idea of the four rings is an alternative to pushing the license plate though

I always grab the inside handles and pull it down until gravity takes over and slam shuts it itself.
