ok seriously guys... being new to NY sucks when it comes to working on my car. I spent my day on the sidewalk talking to every damn passerbyer who was wondering what I was doing. There's gotta be a better way!


notice the blue extension cord on the right - dropped it out of my 3rd story loft.

I spent the day doing:

- ECS Stage 1 rotor/brake upgrade with Hawk HPS pads

- ECS Coil over kit - front only for today.

- Painted out my calipers/carriers in black.

I'll upload some photos in a bit.

Damn man. I hate it when people start asking questions when your working on your car. Or working anywhere for that matter. If im working on something, leave me the fvck alone.

Holy crap! That's got to be one of the most difficult places ro work on a car.

You have to make sure no one walks off with any of your stuff while you're under the car.

NYC is a tough place to own a car.

here's one side done... by the time I gotta around to finishing the other side, it was dark so I couldn't snap any final photos. Keep in mind, this was my very first mod I did myself. I had the Bilsteins/H&R sports done for me by a buddy of mine.

The passenger side took me about 7 hours to do. I came across a few snags, mostly not knowing how to take things apart. Not to mention one old man Bob who lives in my building who had to stop and chit chat. I think he talked at me for about 45 min. Anyway, the second side took 3 hours. Huge learning curve.

I give you props. I used to work in NYC, and a lot of my buddies still live there.

You showed some bigtime commitment!

The funniest part I find is that most people think that if you're working on your, that it must be "broken". They fail to understand maintenance and modding.

My girlfriend always thinks my car is a POS since I'm alwasy working on it. Little does she know...

to be honest, I really didn't want to share too much of what I was doing. I didn't know some of these ppl who were asking what I was doing. "Oh yeah, I'm doing some expensive sh*t right here. Come back with your buddies later after I'm all done and steel my car." I just telling them the breaks suck.

rims are MAS Italy Sagitta's 18x8 w/ either 32 or 35 offeset. Their website says 32mm, but the box says 35mm... not sure.

I don't know how you guys do it out here with lowered cars and tight suspension. In Cali, we had wide open SMOOOTH roads where the only deterrent was the law. Out here, I can't get past second gear without the worries of slamming the front end into a huge hole... now I know where the term "pot-hole" comes from - NY baby!

Oh man, you moved to NYC- the #1 city in potholes, i have race springs, and i have hit some big ones, thank God, My S4 rims are tough, but NY is a pain.

Same here man. I was hesitant to get S4 rims, just b/c I didn't want to be a "poser", and they're not all that stylish. But, if I got another brand, or any 18s, I'm sure I would have gone through at least 4 by now. The roads here are worse than NYC.
