Record numbers at DTM races

The advance ticket sales for the MOTOPARK are also in line with the current trend in the DTM this season: a total of 462,000 spectators have come to see the six races to date. Three new spectator records have already been celebrated this year with 74,000 on the Lausitzring, 132,000 on the Norisring and 103,000 on the Nuerburgring.




Why can't American sportscar racing have this kind of following. It is so far superior to NASCAR

i would kill to see DTM racing live and in the flesch. these numbers arn't supprising to see, especially when you consider how large most of these tracks are, the immense popularity of the DTM series, and with the countries being so close together most people are willing to travel around to the various races. it just means that DTM racing is here to stay.

It is a great series, but on par with Speed GT, alittle better than Speed TC, and not up to the level of ALMS. Still they appreciated racing so much more in Europe than in America. You can get 100,000 yahoos for a Nextel cup race, why not for ALMS?

it's the popularity of the american drivers and the american manufacturars that makes Nascar so popular. the same is for europe, only with european drivers and european manufacturars.
