    STaSIS special for August!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey all,

    Here is the STaSIS special for August;

    1. STaSIS Street Sport coilover kits are again on special; $945 and a free STaSIS crew shirt in the color of your choice.

    Numerous kits for Audi(and VW) are available;

-STaSIS Street Sport Koni Coilover Kit for B6 A4 1.8T/3.0 Quattro and FWD; 4 KONI sport dampers; single adjustable (rebound), narrow band; suspension disassembly required for adjustment; cadmium plated threaded steel damper bodies; height adjustable; 4 progressive rate KONI springs (450/440 spring rate); balanced and adjusted on SPA damper dynamometer

-STaSIS Street Sport Koni Coilover Kit for B5 A4/S4; 4 KONI sport dampers; single adjustable (rebound), narrow band; suspension disassembly required for adjustment; cadmium plated threaded steel damper bodies; height adjustable; 4 progressive rate KONI springs (400 lb. spring rate); balanced and adjusted on SPA damper dynamometer

-STaSIS Street Sport Koni Coilover Kit for B5 A4/Passat FWD; 4 KONI sport dampers; single adjustable (rebound), narrow band; suspension disassembly required for adjustment; cadmium plated threaded steel damper bodies; height adjustable; 4 progressive rate KONI springs (400 lb. spring rate); balanced and adjusted on SPA damper dynamometer

To put any misconceptions aside, these kits are off-the-shelf Koni coilover kits that have been further modified by STaSIS. STaSIS puts the dampers on their shock dyno, matches the set of 4, sets the rebound damping for optimum ride/handling, and also sets the spring perch heights. This results in a fantastic ride and great handling. You'd be hard pressed to find conventional dampers and springs for this price and even if so, you wouldn't have the flexibility of ride height adjustability and rebound damping to set the vehicle where you prefer.

    2. As well, any other STaSIS suspension, brake, or drivetrain items are available at a 5% discount.

Keep in mind that by purchasing through us in Oregon you save on sales tax which can save you a lot of $$!! Couple that with our expert technical knowledge/product support and exceptional customer service and you won't find a better company to deal with in the entire industry.

As always, let me know if you have any questions either by PM or email. I am always here to help.

    Best regards,
    Jeremy

Aren't these just the basic koni coilovers? What is special about $945? shox.com has the same price, and SPP sells them for $899.

If these are pre-set from STaSIS, what are they set to? Is the front stiffer? Rear? Even? What exactly is the 'optimum ride height' and what difference does it make if people are going to change that (I mean, these are coilovers after all.)?

Sorry for the onslaught of questions.

I'm interested, but might need a little more 'specialness' (read: cheaper) to convince me.

    Hey Hotani,

No problem for the onslaught of questions---that's what we're here for.

As I mentioned above, these are NOT the basic Koni coilovers. The basic Koni coilovers can have damping set aggressive on one damper and soft on another. This is not so with the STaSIS setup as they are all matched together in unison by STaSIS.

The settings STaSIS uses are proprietary so unfortunately I cannot mention them here.

As you may know, STaSIS is located at Infineon Raceway and spends more time on track testing, testing, and re-testing than any other. They know from experience what suspension settings should be used and at what ride height vehicles ride/handle best at.

Everyone that has purchased these has been extremely happy with them. You could certainly go lower in regards to ride height--it's all up to you. Just know that optimal ride height is where STaSIS sets the coilovers at.

    HTH to answer your questions.

LMK if you have any others.

    Best regards,
    Jeremy

There is plenty of opportunity for you to set the adjustments in the wrong place, and end up with poor handling. Frankly, the small premium stasis charges to match the rebound on the shocks, and set them where they believe you'll get good handling is well worth it. As far as the ride height...adjusting the height up and down will change the handling, since you're working with a progressive rate spring. Again, stasis has taken this into consideration, and set the height where they fell it will work well with both the shock dampening and the spring included with the kit.

Long and short of it is that you're buying a budget kit tuned up some suspension nerds. The extra couple bucks you're paying for that is most likely well worth it. If you want to save money, install it yourself and save on the install costs.

I see that you provide good instructions for install. What tools are required for install? I have been leary of dealing with the springs without a tool to unload them. Or am I better off just having someone install them?

    Here are my other questions:

How much will it lower my car (approximately)?

I have a 2001 A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro Tip with the non-sport suspension. I am not looking for it to be aggressively lowered, although I want to get rid of the huge gaps between tires and wheel well.

Also, I am interested in getting better cornering performance without changing the normal ride characteristic drastically on straight ahead driving. Will these achieve that?

I am interested in this setup primarily because you have dialed it in for me. I would not plan to make changes.

If I decide to buy, do I just go to your website?

    Sorry for the length.

    Thanks

This is by far the best product I have ever purchase on any of my cars.

My springs were drop shipped directly from STaSIS the next day, the ride height is perfect and the feel of the coil overs is incredible.

Everybody that has rode in or driven my car loves them.

I highly recommend the service that Jeremy at Matrix Integrated provides also.

Definitely a MUST buy for B6 owners.

    DGuyer,

You'll need a spring compressor to get the old suspension out. Putting the coilovers back in is a lot easier than removing the stock suspension. The STaSIS coilover kit also comes with the spanner wrench you need to adjust the spring perches on the coilovers.

We spec 4hrs for the install so as long as you have a spring compressor and misc hand tools, it shouldn't be too difficult for you.

It will lower your B5 Avant at least .75"...but could lower it more than 1.75" if you wanted it to(we suggest lowering it about 1.25-1.4").

These will definitely achieve your desire for better cornering/handling without upsetting a comfortable ride. With a lot of suspensions out there, the springs and damper valving seem to be mismatched(usually oversprung and underdamped), resulting in a porpoising(car undulates down the road like a wave) ride. The STaSIS suspensions are in no way like this because the spring rates are nicely mated with proper damper valving.

If you're interested further, would like to place an order, or have any further questions, you can either contact me here, by email([email protected]) or by phone(503.443.1141).

I have a set in stock so I could send them out today.

Just a quick note. I just talked to STaSIS and they mentioned that their pricing across the board will rise very soon.

So, now would be the time to make your STaSIS purchases while pricing is at it's lowest!!!!

Please let me know if there are any questions--I am more than happy to help!

    I have a few questions.

In your first post jeremy It has b5 a4/s4 listed with all 400lb springs.

Most aftermarket spring companies have higher rates for the s4 over the a4 because of the added weight. Also are there different setups for the avants because they usually have higher spring rates in the rear.

What is the reason that Koni/stasis uses the same?

    Hi Ben,

The B5 kit is designed for the S4. So, A4 users of this kit will simply have a more aggressive setup because of this.

On this Street Sport kit, there are no changes made for Avants. On the higher end STaSIS kits, changes in the setup are made for Avant owners.

I hope that helps answer some of your questions. Let me know if you have any others.
