Ah man... I already eat dehydrated noodles and I can only afford a couple mods. Time for a new job.

Try eating them uncooked because when you boil them that requires water and by using water you're adding to your water and power bill. Just something to think about.

I think its pointless to dump more money into your car then would be required to move to the next step up. So if you have an a4 1.8t, and you put in enough mod money that you could have afforded a s4, well then, thats just plain stupid imo....unless of course, you aren't paying retail for your mods.

If you think the A4 is heavy, the S4 weighs any where from 300 to 700 lbs more. An A4 with 300 Hp will certainly be faster than the S4 around a track due to its weight advantage. Aside from the engine mods all or most of the mods done on my A4 would have to be done on the S4, hardly the savings. Considering the cost difference at purchase, there is no way I could afford the S4, let alone modify it to my standards.

I don't track my car, and neither do a lot of the people on this board (look at all the bodykit/ gay new sig threads for christ sakes), so that reason is pretty much out the window for me. At the end of the day, sure you'll have a faster car around the track, but as reliable as mtm is, it still won't be as reliable as a stock s4, not to mention you are losing your warranty. Its just my opinion that when you start modding a car, paying retail for parts, and ultimately spending way too much money then you will make back on selling a modded car (or parting out used parts), that you should have just gone the next step up if you could have. But hey, you are happy with your modded a4 so what does it matter what I think.

it's really hard to stop modding a vehicle...

i've been modding since i bought my 1985 VW Golf and it's only escalated to crazy amounts of money since then...

The Civic Si i had had well over $12,000 invested in it with the Supercharge, suspension, wheels, etc. etc. etc.

i vowed to never dump that kind of money into a car again, considering the car only cost $17,000 new...

Now i've already spent $1500 for an exhaust and intake on the S4, and am looking at a $5000 set of wheels...

Theres a big diff. btwn dumping 12k in a 17k car that you'll sell for 15k if your lucky...

and an S4 for 50k modded w/ even say 10k that you'll be able to sell for 40-45k...

Not hating, but its the truth...

c'mon, let's be realistic... the S4 is not going to catch a $40K dollar price if i decided to keep it even 3 years...

and this car is pretty well daring me to dump a shitload of money into it... i could easily spend $3K or more on a suspension and another $5K on brakes...

then there's the matter of the Milltek DP's, another $2K, and getting the thing chipped which is probably the cheapest mod of them all at about $500...

So, there i have about $16K into the car...

i'm not going to do it though... i'm not going to do it...

the more expensive the car, the more expensive to mod... you gotta pay to play though, i guess...
