Is an Audi a "Whip"

Should an Audi be reffered to as a "Whip" ? Everytime I hear a car reffered to as a "Whip" I think of some SUV with (insert 20 inch rim slang here) wheels and tires And when I hear sombody call their Audi an "Whip" it sounds dumb. IMO Audi's are not ghetto fabulous . Just my 2 cents, Anyone else agree? Disagree ?

i thought whip was just a broad term for a car... not necessarily anything specific... i dunno, i'm not ghetto, i call my audi "a car".

I'm calling BS on the "I drive an Audi" for the majority of answers...
If you didn't mod it you drive an Audi or a BMW or whatever. If your into car and mod them then it is YOUR car...personalized to fit you therefore it is your whip and no one elses. Anyone can drive an Audi...that's what differientiates your "whip" from someone elses.

Granted I dont' use the term, but if someone asked me if it was my "whip" they saw something they liked about it that they don't see every day. I try to be humble to guys but if your car is the Sh*t dont' be shy, even if it's in only your eyes. Love what you got, Mines not an Audi it's my whip, ride, Pimp-carriage, etc...that happens to be an Audi.

It is a form of english, unless some of you would like to de-classify "Black English" as a vernacular.

Fair play, but I think skin colour is irrelevant as English is English and should be spoken as so. When it starts getting diluted by slang and coloquialisms it gets hard to communicate with others. Not good.

I hear you excursion. And, that was just the webster dictionary's def of ebonics. Taking real life into consideration, there is probly more white people that use ebonics than black people(Exhagguration)(sp?) But you get the point. Slang is going to change from place to place and clique to clique. But I know what your saying about when it gets hard to understand. I mean, i've talked to so pretty "thugged" out people in the southern states and it's really hard to keep up with them as far as what they are really talking about sometimes. It's jus like going to a diff country and having somone speak broken english. But as far as chastizing anyone for using the slang that they choose, I don't think thats necessary.

I talk in ebonics all the time, as im sure most of you notice in my posts(it's even heavier in person). It's funny to hear me and my friends use it, especially heavily. It's just the way we talk though...

the english have some crazy slang. like words that mean somethign else, but by 3 degress of speration. i guess one that many may kno from Ocean's Eleven,l "Barney"=trouble bc Barney--->Barney Rubble(Flintstones)---->Rubble------>Rhymes with trouble. crazy brits

That is Cockney rhyming slang, it was used in victorian times by the criminals around London. It enabled them to talk about their various dealings and illegal activities without fear of being caught.
