rotor direction question

I'm sure this has been covered before, but was unable to find a quick answer in the threads.

What direction should slotted rotors go? Should they go against the grain or with the grain? Not sure how else to describe it.

This might help, but I'm not sure what kind you have. The direction of the grooves is irrelevant. The direction of the vanes is what's important.
