    Is N75 Valve a must w/ KO4 upgrade?

I'm running stock right now, but I've also heard problems of going into limp mode with KO4ers. Does the N75 race valve work as a positive with the KO4 software currently out for our cars?
    Should I have this?

Cars go into "Limp Mode" because the N75 is allowing more boost to be produced, and the ECU freaks out. This will depend solely on your software programming. Personally, all N75's work the same, on a duty cycle basis, pretty much like a SPST latch relay in electronics, but the internals of some are more restrictive than others, and vice versa, which controls ultimately how much pressure is flowing.

Thanks Jeff, I think I might just stick with the stocker since I'm leaning towards REVO over NS software w/ the KO4, then I can adjust my boost manually with the REVO SP3.

So you're going NS huh? What kind of HP/TQ # differences do ya think there is between REVO and NS w/ our KO4's, I know NS claims more, and is $400, instead of around $800 for REVO.

Not worried about the low mph pinging uphill like Mark was having?

Well, keep in mind that Mark has an 02 and i have an 03.. They had to change somethings with the software, so im not really sure what to expect..

As far as comparing between Revo and NS, i cant do it right now. The injectors i have at the moment are only 317cc (which will work fine with the Ko4) but if im trying for max power with this setup, ill need to get larger injectors for sure.

So when that time comes, THEN the comparison will be more realistic..

one thing my tuner told me about the upgraded n75 valves in general is that it does allow more boost, but he also said if the tuner wanted to more boost he could just easily just write it into the program instead of using the n75 valves...

just putting the information out there...made sense to me anyways.

    Thanks

I have the same discussion with Mitch, the engineer of Revo in UK. He was saying why you need a bigger wastegate like N75R if I already gave you what you want in your custom tune program. He is absolutely right.

I'm using 315cc injectors and Revo stage 1 program. The car is running cool and here is the butt dyno graph for my friend with K04, 315cc injectors, FMIC and Revo customs tune program in his 02 1.8T.

Damn!!!!! 250hp/280TQ on 315cc injectors...wow...how does the butt dyno match up to a dynojet? Because there will be peeps on here that will say thats not possible w/ a KO4....I'm not one of those people...lol...right on.

I'll have more mods than that when mine is done...looks like I leaning toward REVO software.

when done right its comparible to a dynojet

but he only provides the graph leaving out alot of the math......

the way the spreadsheet comes its set up for a GTI, that weighs less so the numbers are deffinetly off if he just plugged in his logs from the vagcom...

you need to do a rundown from whatever gear you log... which can be difficult... especially in a little place like HK
