How did I know where this one was heading? LOL,, I say AWE too. But marc has his points on the RS4 setup. Depends on what you want to spend.

I would def. go with the DUH fmic! But if you are still convinced that side mount are in fact more efficient then go with the AWE mcneil side mounts their huge!

LOL...who the heck thinks the SMICs are more efficient?

If money is an issue, go with the RS4s. Bigger core, but less pressure drop.

If you can spend a little cash, go with the AWEs. Even bigger than the RS4s and less pressure drop than stock.

If money is no object, go with the DUH. Less pressure drop than stock and super large area for cooling.

There is another FMIC that is under development right now, so I won't mention them by name yet.

The only gripe I have with the AWE setup is that the shrouds don't make full use of the SMIC face. Take a look at the web site and you'll see that the shrouds 'bypass' a large portion of the surface area.
    B7 S4 - needs go fast bits :)

    B5 S4 - sold :(

The AWEs are more surrface area than any modded S4 will need. The FMIC is just overkill and way over priced at over 3k last I checked.

My comments about AWE ICs vs. RS4 ICs are:
    1) AWE ICs are thicker and not wider.
2)The AWE ICs are also significantly heavier and have more fitment issues.

The DUH, while attractive looking and providing more power gains, will cause problems for those of you who want to track your car regularly, especially if the ambient temp is above 90deg F.

APR RS4 ICs get my vote. Cheaper than real RS4 ICs. Easier to install and lighter than AWE ICs. And they do not block your radiator and cause your car to run hotter on the track.

Now that's a biased opinion....but one based on personal experience with all three units.
