From the earlier pages in this thread my plan has changed. I got some pre-pressed trailer fenders that are very close to what I am looking for. After cutting, bending, and welding them, it is exactly what I am looking for. The pre-pressed mold is better because it is thicker and has a nice rolled edge similar to what our cars have stock. Once all 4 corners are tacked on, I am going to overlay them in fiberglass to strengthen them. This will allow me to have a strong fender in ANY shape I want. Also, it REALLY helps to build a widebody around the wheels you want. We are going to fit them perfectly flush around my Carlsson wheels! The pre-pressed metal will also help out with consistency through all 4 fenders.

At first I did not want to play with the rear door shape, but now, I will continue the widebody into the door and mold it into my S4 side skirts. ( I plan to glass on Friday)

A local friend has really helped me out with ideas and fabrication. He comes from a mini-truck background and has 4+ years of experience doing this kind of job. His work is top notch! After we are done with my car, his Mercedes is next

Hopefully I will have dozens of pictures documenting the process and showing how it is done for my fellow AZ'ers I will try to help anyone else who is interested in tackling a job like this

i like what i am hearing. the "other" fender is to me the most straight forward idea. the radius is the only thing to worry about..
can't wait to see the progress. mk4 jetta fenders are nice too. oops did i just say that.

Jetta fenders are pretty nice. I live with 2 jetta guys and i lust over the fender's curves haha

Sounds like a great idea. Modern poly fillers are lighter, stronger, and easier to use than lead. There is one called Half Time that kicks ass. You can do a lot of little batches and get the work done much quicker. Those quick drying thin coats cure all the way through so you don't have to worry about ripples or waves if the filler goes into the paint drying oven without fully curing.

We were going to do the rears last night too but it got too late. We mounted the Carlssons up and they fit PERFECT under the front fenders with the 25mm spacer. I just ordered my paint (mystery color for now) so hopefully next weekend I can test paint a few pannels to see if I like the color. Stay tuned Audizine!

I am quattro. Yes the staggered setup worked fine. My new wheels are also staggered.

What's a munta? I looked on urban dictionary but the definitions don't fit. Some of them are funny but they don't apply.

No mask makes her even better Rob! If I could be so lucky. I tried so many times to explain what an intercooler was to my girlfriend, to no avail. :(

I've seen a color similar to the one your describing. A bike company (Rocky Mountain Bikes) used a color of that nature on one of their frames some years back. It's an amazing color. Should look so sick. So when do we see the finished product?

Finished? No clue. I still need to start the rear arches. I am on my 5th coat of Everglass on the front fenders and they are looking great. I will post a pic at the end of today.

I will be for sure finished by May :-P

This is a project you don't really want to rush. I'm sure it's been allot of fun. Hopefully it stays that way when you get to the rears. Although your new system seems to be a heap easier then your previous efforts. So that should help allot.

Yea the wheels will be silver. (Ive actually never had silver wheels) haha

iin10ded-the jack is an all aluminum lightweight jack from Longacre racing products. It is super low too :)
