Dual Intercooler install questions (kinda need help)

Alrighty. So ive come this far on my Dual Ic install.. All i have left to do is relocate the smog pump and put everything else (wheels liners, wheels etc) back together..

For the smog pump location.. WTF does it go??? I swear i been sitting under my car for the last hour trying to figure out WTF the bracket goes! Seeing as my kit didnt come with instructions or anything, ive been doing this blindedly.

Here's where im at.

This is where i think it should go.. i have bolts that fit the "open" holes on the engine block (They look a little rusty)

Soo.. anyone who has a dual IC, could you PLEASE please post a pic of the underside of your car.. i have no idea where this damn smog pump goes

You see that silver metal looking thing with the hose going up to it that is attached to the engine block. It is the boost resevoir and you wont be needing it anymore. You take that off and mount the smog on one of the holes it used. Cheers! Mike

That's right, you can do away with the boost reservoir and relocate the pump bracket. Jet Jockey and Mark use to have pics of their installs but I think they took them down.

The U.S. reservoir makes you think the second IC was originally designed for our engines (to maintain equivalent intake pressure). Looks like we got the "value engineered" version.

Any one know of any used SMICs for sale (you beat me to the punch Sat)?

Oh well, i rebuilt my bpv which ive been meaning to do for a long time.. It was right there, so i figured why not

Glad you finally did it. It's really very straightforward AFTER you figure out that the boost reservoir has to be removed.

Yeah, it prolly would have cut down a good 2 hours or so.. It just didnt even occur to me that i had to remove it

Oh well, the car feels really solid.. Im getting re-chipped tomarrow and ill also be adding my injectors
