quick rieger rs4 front bumper question

Is it a complete bumper (like remove the old one and install this one) or is it just a skin that is glued ontop of the stock bumper?

It's a skin. I just did the install this weekend.

Pull the old bumper off, and then you'll have to cut the old reinforcement bar out. I ended up using an angle grinder (MUCH quicker than a dremel) and a saw to cut off two rivets. Should take about 10 minutes to pull the re-bar out.

After that, mount the reinforcement bar onto the car. Dry fit the bumper, and mark on the bumper (as close as possible) where the hex bolts are going to go throuh for the reinforcement. After you make your mark, drill a hole there with progressive sizes, then I eventually used a dremel to make it big enough to fit the bolt and washer through.

Mount your mesh (if you're going to do it) - I used two-part epoxy. Let that dry for at least two hours, but overnight if possible.

If you have fogs, re-mount the fogs on the bar. Then dry-fit the bumper again. I had problems where the reinforcement bar was getting in the way, so I had to bend part of it away. (just a clip where one of the rivets went)

Put glue everywhere now, all over the re-bar and inside of the bumper where it will mate with the re-bar. lay it on thick! put the bumper on, two screws into each fender up through the bumper, and you're done. Tape up the bumper to be safe (if you'd like) and let it dry for a long time. The cure rate for the adhesive is 3/16" per 24 hours. I found it was nice and stuck after about 18 hours, but YRMV.

Good luck, let me know if you have any questions. There are other ways to do it I'm sure, but this is the way I did it.

If you wanna save your stock bumper, you should buy an extra reinforcement bar. In fact, I have one for sale :-) for $75. PM me if you're interested.

Angle grinder instead of dremel. I'm sorta disapointed.

Haha. Hey, the dremel DID have a hand in the install. The angle grinder was much quicker zipping those rivets off though.

Got mine from LLTEK all painted ready to go. Super paint job on it. Service was real quick and pakaged nice. A little concerned over posible shipping damage but came without a scratch on it. Might be a little more money but it was truely one stop shopping. Took a lot of the hassle out of it. The holes for the bumper bolts were already drilled. Nice!
