N75 Level 2 preliminary testing shows nice boost increase...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As you can see in the following pictures, the Level 1 N75 sleeve (the green one I was previously running on my car that was dynod) is similar if not exactly the same as stock. The dyno showed negligible gains that may have been the result of average variance.

Well, I just finished installing the Level 2 sleeve (not pictured) which was red in color and slightly smaller than the Level 1 yet larger than the Level 3 (the silver one in the picture).

Previously, boost spiked to 23psi and held at around 20psi until 4500rpm or so. Currently I am seeing boost spikes estimated (the needle swung a bit past the 25psi cutoff) in the area of 27-28psi and it holds at 22psi until 4500rpm. This could mean some significant gains in torque. Jet Jockey recently dynod a similar concept from Dahlbach that resulted in gains of approximately 3 whp and 37lb/ft of torque at the wheels.

Needless to say I am extremely pleased and would like to make a tremendous thanks to Anthony at Greedspeed for rushing these parts out to me and sending them directly to Champion Motorsports where we could test them. I will be back at Champion with a couple of other toys for some more testing in a couple of weeks. Thanks again Anthony. Please give him a call at Greedspeed if you have any questions. Cheers! Mike

Exactly...that is the only difference between these valves anyways is the diameter of the wastegate valve. The smaller the valve, the more boost is held. The other nice thing about these sleeves is you can swap them out with all the other lines still connected to the N75. Takes 5 minutes. cheers! Mike

It controls the amount of boost going out to the waste gate. If you go with a more aggressive one it allows you to hold more boost and longer.

The N75 has three lines that are all the same diameter, approximately 6mm by eyeballing it. The sleeve goes directly into the N75 valve's port that the line to the wastegate hooks up to. It fits nice and snug and is easy to swap. cheers! Mike

SK04 comes with the same thing but they call it "N75 bleed jet
". Mine gives me extra 3 psi of boost but the drop diff. is the same with or without it.
Now that I have REVO I can adjust my boost with SPS3 so I have no need for it.

But for those of us without adjustable software, such as Neuspeed, this is a nice way to get some small gains and sounds like a DIY. So how much for this part and since I havent looked at these lines yet, I assuming they are somewhat easy to reach and there is no question about where the sleeve is located?

Gotcha. Makes sense with Anthony being close with Neuspeed and all. I realize I could just go with an EBC, but I like not having one wired up. I cant seem to get over the stigma of running one :) cheers! mike

Sleve plugs in the N75 on the side going to the wastegate.
Its nice boost mode and looking at it shouldnt cost more than $5.

Is this something worth doing on stock turbos or only big turbo upgrades? I dont plan on doing anything radical like that, but I do like the minor mods that help.

Actually, i'd probably prefer it on either stock programming or regular 1.2bar programming. Theres alot more room for error and gain in those situations. Those of us who are already spiking 1.6bar and holding 1.5bar might run into problems. Cheers! Mike

Yeah, i'm definitely pushing the envelope. Theres a couple B5ers running J31 sofware that has similar spikes without problems, but I definitely dont doubt this turbo will have a shorter life. Oh well. I'm not planning on having a K04 on my car for more than a few months anyways. Cheers! Mike

Any idea which chip programming supports the N75, I remember there was talk about it, but never heard which did... was it GIAC or Revo?

It's tough to say without doing the testing. Thing is, that the testing would be easy enough to do. If you had a vagcom you could take some logs and go from there. Some programs will work better than others just because some leave more room for error and modification. If you lived close to your tuner than you could probably get them to write a line in the code to ready it for the valve. cheers! mike

I tried out a J valve i think (im almost positive) along with my Giac software.. Didnt feel a damn thing. Ive been told that Giac already has software built into its chips to help cover the actions of the "stock" N75 valve..
