I already have HID low beams in my DOT spec projectors, love it. works wonders. Now I need something to help overcome the lows so I can actually see further. I already have wiring harnesses in place, 12awg wiring for the highs and 14 for the HID lows, fused 40a relays. So I am set on the wiring end, no headlight switch replacement ever again(I pray). What I really need to know is can the stock one peice housings hold up to continued heat from high wattage bulbs??? How high can I go? I am considering some 100w bastards, that ought to do, huh? looking for output, not colors.............

looking for info soon so I can order some better bulbs asap....

55w.... leave it at that... any higher you are looking at cooking your wires in the long run.

Well they're for your brights it sounds like, so they won't be on all the time. I personally wouldn't go any higher than 70 or 80 watts.

As I stated in my original post, I have upgraded the wiring enough that I don't have to worry about any cooked wires. I could run 155w bulbs if I wanted too.... Not that they make them in H7 or that I would buy them if they did. All that I am concerned with is will I risk damaging the reflectors or the lenses or any part of the head light housings, anything besides the wiring.

I think Anthony might be right, 100w may be a little too much heat for as long as I use the high beams some times.....
