    New Chip problem.....

    Hey guys,

I just bought a new ECU with K04 software but when I plugged it in I was not even able to start the car. I did not install any hardware yet but I should be able to start the car at least right? Do I need to do an adaptation with a vag or something? I know my O2 Sensors are way off, would that cause a problem? Any and all help IS appreciated. :)

edit: Do I need to clear the short term variables?

maybe you dont have the right program.... especially for the chip that you have.

If you do not get a Check Engine Light when you first put the key on accessory you will not be able to start the car.

I got the CEl lit up like when it's fine. It shoud be the right program. This is a 557 P ECU. Mine is originally a 557 N but I know the P works too. This ECU was running an A4 as well before I got my hands on it too.

Opened up the ECU, the chip looked fine. Wasn't out of place or anything.

Got it working. So funny, I had to play with the throttle like it was a deisel. Now to swap the turbo, thanks for your help Skene.
