Hey everybody,

I'm new to this forums. I currently own a Golf. But want to upgrade to an Avant. So I have some question regarding the B6 wagons. Any problems with them engine, tranny, etc... etc.

Help me out!

which model do you want to upgrade to the b5 twin turbo or the b6 1.8t or six cyl - quattro or fwd...

on the b6 1.8t other then coil packs and it being slow i cant see you having a lot of problems

I've got an '02 B6 A4 Avant 3.0 V6 quattro sports package and i love that damn car. its the best one i've owned. i take it snowboarding camping and its the perfect size for everything. havent been disappointed at all. you should get one IMO

If I were to do it all over again I'd probably go with a B5 S4 AVant or search for an RS6. Then again, I LOVE the lines of my B6.

I was looking into the 03-04 1.8t. Did they offer them in a 2WD or Quattro only?

How good is the 3.0 engine?

mine has had zero maintenance issues. 60k miles and the only thing I've ever broken was 2 coil packs and I have a slight coolant leak from the pipe above my intake mani.

Watch out for the S4's... they like to visit gas stations and take 10 qts of oil for each oil change! Only soccer moms drive "unmodified" wagons.

Modded A4 sedans are sweet but modded Avants are pure sex.

I found out the hard way by seeing the car I own now on deep dish 19s in my parking garage.

if youre gonna go with the avant, i'd definately look for the ultra sport package(just like sablea4's). they already look awesome from the factory.

I would get the B5 S4 Avant if you want it to also be fast. The most reliable is the B6 3.0 though. Track, street, picking up the kids, pets, or groceries, the Avant is at home.

I LOVE that white B5.

If I owned a B5 S4 AVant I would make it look similar to that white one.
