I am looking into doing this mod this weekend myself. Has anyone done this here? Is it a noticeable difference? Anything I should know before I go into this? Discuss.

    Thanks.

doesn't matter either way they're all out to hurt me.

if the runners arent matched to the head it wont matter cause the air is going into the head so it will just bottle neck. i dunno how close the ports on the AEB head and on the intake mani are.
i am of course assuming your car is 99.5

if you can pull the mani off and measure. if you wanna see any performance i might just recommend getting it polished as the runners on the AEB are pretty large as it is and iirc they are pretty much port matched. just remember you dont wanna go too big if you arent flowing alot of air because it will lower your intake charge velocity which will cause you to actually lose power.

after doing something like this too the manifold, it thins out the walls which makes it prone to getting cracked. I heard stories about something like this happening to the modified spp manifold which is pretty much what you want to do.. think about it and if its worth it to you. the gains wont be that great as the 99.5's are pretty well machined already as dvs told you. i would invest your time and money elsewhere. my opinon take it how you like

Why would it crack? You dont remove that much material when polishing..

ive just heard that they crack. when you port and polish the stock manifold. and for the gains you get i hear its not worth it.

never polish the intake, only the exhaust

Well, you could match the ports on the intake mani.. Thats what i'd do at lease, i prolly wouldnt want to port it thou.

doing things like getting a cross hatched finish inside the manifold are good as they reduce drag and flow turbulence from casting imperfections and ultimately allow for increase charge velocity. this is a good thing so i wouldnt say never polish the intake mani. the above mentioned sound like minor issues but you would be amazed at the impact they can have. for a k03 i would say that it wouldnt really be worth your time. and like i said before i believe the manis and heads for AEB's are already port matched.
