Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Intrax ARS coilovers... the rear didnt drop as low as i wanted, so im deciding whether or not to buy new rear springs to drop it lower in the back. from ground to fender in the front i am 25.25" and the rear is 25.5". here are the pics...

    front wheel gap..

    rear wheel gap...

thats it. only problem now is deciding if i should buy new rear springs to drop it more or not.. i dont really want to spend any more money, so its gonna be a hard decision.

I have the same coilovers. I cut the rear springs so that I could lower the rear more. The front springs are progressive while the rear springs are linear, so cutting a coil doesn't affect the spring rate. If you get new rear springs from Intrax, they'll just be shorter anyway. I had my car at 24" front and rear, I raised it to 24.5" front, 25" rear yesterday.

No, definitely not. It's just that the rear springs that come with the Intrax ARS coilovers are too long, they sell shorter race springs with a higher spring rate. I have the same coilovers and I had all 4 tires tucked for a little while, it was too low so I raised it.

Heres a bright sunny, clear skies, Norcal picture for you suckers, the picture was taken last year, a long time ago. And thats the cactus tree that fell on my car last winter, strong winds put it all up on my hood, for whomever it was that said somone threw a cactai(?) at his car. Lucky there was no damage.

After that I fingered my car. It didnt moan.

Now imagine if i had some 19s.
BTW: Dont make fun of my 16's.

not makin fun.. you have the same gap as i do with those coilovers.. i think my 18s close the gap some though, cause im 25.5 in the rear and 25.25 in the front. its 1.5 fingers in the front and about 2 in the rear.

I have a bunch more now. Luckily though my fat tire sidewalls take most of the punishment when i run up on curbs. Its going to be bitch running low profile tires on big wheels, I can imagine it now.

Yeah Nick, my drop is the same as your rights now. I was just saying though, I still have room left to drop it even more (front and back). I should have taken a picture when I first installed the rears, had it almost to the lowest setting and the whole tire was tucked in. Kinda like Skara's white Avant pictures.

Any rate, because im running stock 16s and i dont really care, i've been meaning to raise them all they way back up again. I bottom out on speedbumps, steep driveways and etc more than just a few times. And i miss the smoothness of going over things.

finaly lowered now nick....... nicely done and trust me when i say your car does not need to be lowered more in the rear, i keep raising mine up because of rubbing issues with passengers. also if you like the rear bumper on your car i suggest you leave it ALONE. it will scrape everything

the bad thing is, you can't really go too low with those wheels unless you roll the fronts. in which case, you better have tight suspension up front. i had koni/intrax on my b5 with those wheels and i would rub going into corners and i had a little over 2 finger gap up front. i think my setup was too soft for aggressive driving.

yea, i know what you mean. i already had my front fenders trimmed, so hopefully i wont be rubbing.

nismosx- yea, i was thinkin the same thing, the rear is really low as it is, i'd probably lose it if i went lower. i gotta think about it, i kinda like the height its at now.
