    Exhaust Envy....

All this talk about custom exhausts makes me want to change something about my exhaust. I need some advice. I have a Milltek on a FWD 5spd. Right now the downpipe is said to be 2.5" and then bottlenecks into about 2" piping to the mufflers. I'm not sure what the exhaust open out to, maybe 2.5" or maybe less.
Now here's the question. Can I get custom piping after the downpipe to the mufflers and eliminate the resonator? Or should I just go with a full custom exhaust and sell the Milltek?
Is there a place in the L.A. area that would help me out on my custom exhaust whether it be modifying my current one or just fabricating an entirely new system? Well, hopefully some people have feedback, TIA.

if i were you id sell the milltek and use half that money into a custom exhaust. u can sell milltek and keep the dp.. and tell muffler shop to pipe it after the DP with either 2.5 or 3" piping.. then pick up some magna's or something..watever floats ur boat and pipie 2.25" piping.. if u think its too loud then go with some resonators too.. itd be a shame to chop up a milltek..

actually hey, why do u wanna get rid of it anyways??

I want a little bit more of a performance gain, but I honestly want a bit of a louder exhaust. Milltek is great and all but I don't think it has that noticeable of a sound. I love that it doesn't have excessive cabin drone, but as far as the outside goes, it might be a little too quiet for me. Especially after hearing Hyperspeeds exhaust, it made my Milltek sound like a little baby.
If I decide to sell my exhaust bbaudi, I'll let you know, but PM and we can discuss details and pricing. But I will have to keep my downpipe.

Get a test pipe, it'll make your exhaust louder!

I don't want to have to worry about swapping the cat back on during smog time.

But the thing with Milltek is that it's got a great sound b/w 1500-3000 rpm's and that's it. I would love that sound to carry out to red line.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great sounding exhaust and I was happy with it when I first installed it. But I wanted a quiet exhaust because I live in L.A. and the pigs in this city can be a-holes. I didn't want to bring too much attention to myself. But now I honestly don't care so I'd like to go a little louder.
