    Install Q's about Thermal

I've jacked my car up and I'm doing the exhaust tommorow. I had a question tho. We measure the tips roughly and how much they should stick otu and ti seems the whole muffler tip is going to stick out for me. Anything I can do during the install to minimalize this???

Also, anything I should look out for, be aware of, etc. etc. tips.

They give instructions and it's pretty straight forward, but I figure better to ask than be sorry later.

Also, do I have to use any of the OEM bolts or hangars, etc. or will I throw all that away. Some of its very very rusted on my car...

I had to use all the original parts and hangers. Would have been nice to have a new gasket but instead had to pry the old one off. Mine doesn't stick out at all, fits perfect but I've got an avant which may have a bigger bumper? And yeah it's pretty straight forward.

If it takes you 6 hours to install a bolt on exhaust Id hate to see how long it takes you to cook in the kitchen.

For a muffler shop, it took 1.5h to do it. Pretty straight forward.

You can adjust how much the tips stick out; the center resonator pipe slides in to the DP (which is tighten with a clamp). This is also best way to adjust the tips in center wise (twist it around to make other tip higher and vice versa).

Check out this Thermal thread, it has some discussion about the installation...

my shop had my old one off and the new one on in 30 minutes(tip of course) my tips were sticking out too much for me. What I did was grind down the two little "nubs" on the factory pipe where it connects to the thermal and I was able to slide it as far forward as I wanted. Perfect now
