Here is a teaser for you guys on those dyno runs...

The best run of the day was done under less then ideal circumstance, 100 degrees F in the dyno room and the dyno's computer crashed twice so we had to reboot the system. The car got heat soaked a lot, I saw 70 C intake temps on the VAG COM. Still got good results but decided to cool the car a bit before doing a last run.

Anyway we managed to pull under these conditions, 215 HP at the wheels and 285 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels at around 3100 RPM. Not too bad.

Today it was 100F on the last runs in the dyno room vs 84F last time, but there is more to it then that which I will explain later.

The total gain so far is 90 Hp over stock and about 130 ft/lbs.

    Mike,

Awesome numbers, and here I was saying a K04 couldn't put out those figures, I'm glad you proved me wrong. MTM needs to change their HP #'s for the Stage 3, Avalon says 230CHP, and Hoppen says 250CHP, you shattered both of them!!!! Awesome!

To be fair, MTM usually plays it safe with their numbers. Also my car is tweaked what you could call a standard MTM Stage 3. I did polish and port the manifold and I do have the duals which may help and the turbo inlet pipe. If I have time I will post three seperate dyno runs with three different settings.

Sounds good, you never fail to deliever on the details!!! I realize that you're not just the basic MTM stage 3, but PP will only give you so much, the Duals marginal, the turbo inlet pipe maybe 5? Also the E05 hit 270Hp and I doubted that as well, so what do I know! I think with the right fuel, tuning and patience that it's possible. I think your attention to detail, quest for perfection and your knowledge has played a part in your success as well. Not to mention the ambient temps were not ideal in this latest dyno run and the fact that you hit such good numbers. I mean people always say it's the dyno and I always criticize those who blame the dyno, so I'm going to take your runs as facts. Excellent job Mike, looking forward to seeing the comparisons.

isn't the MTM Stage 3 really expensive relative to the Revo / E05 setup? Or is it fairly close in price?

mtm stage 3 is pretty much a complete kit less the clutch.. but its still quite expensive for a k04 setup....

qaulity is top notch though..... youd have a hard time finding a better exhuast system...

The 230 CHP is the figure MTM uses in Germany, TUV?
In England the distributor uses 240?
Inthe USA Mike decided to use the 250 Hp and 255 ft/lbs after talking to the technician at MTM Germany. I would think that the Hoppen figures are most likely closer to the real numbers.

Yes you do. They're reliable kits and very rarely have I seen anybody get a failure with them. MTM does their research and I've always been impressed with their products.

Yes it is, $6500. It includes the full DP/CAT exhaust system though (which alone is around $3600). So, as some have pointed out, you can get an alternative power upgrade like this, but cheaper.
There are reasons, as pointed out many times, why MTM is more expensive though (exchange rates, TUV costs, R&D,..etc). Same for Sportec. Just part of the inevitable consequence of buying a kit from Europe.

Wow! So around 260hp / 290 ft/lb torque. MTM/JHM #'s were very conservative. Now if only my Stage 2 #'s were as impressive for 91 octane on my car. I should see better then 215hp / 245 lb/ft torque with the DP/CAT, TIP,.. etc. But wait, I keep forgetting I have 91 craptane (and no disclaimer was ever mentioned about that).

Well, impressed with everything but how Hoppen has handled your issue with the MTM software/hardware.
