Engine start problem - ignition stage - help

when i turn my key to start the car i hear the normal ch ch ch ch ...engine. It turns over right 80% of the time. Recently it has been inconsisted with its start noise. It might ch.....ch.... engine. Or it sounds week like its about to not start and then just catches. I went to the local auto parts store and they ran an electrical test and found nothingn to be wrong and of course when they asked me to start it, it started up perfect. Any advice would be good

I'm thinking the starter has a dead spot. Next time it doesn't want to start see if tapping the starter with a hammer works if it does theres your problem.

will it cause future problems, or can i just let it go

if it is the started it will eventually not work anymore and not start your car. I'm interested to see what other people think on the subject.

Well I can tell you if you car craps out within the next couple months, it might be the fuel pump. I had the same exact problem, then the pump died, and I put a new one in and it never did it again.
