Whos got one? were do they sell them? how well do they work?

You want a trunk tracking model, which I believe are now illegal to buy in the US or you have to have a permit or something like that. You can however have them shipped to you from Europe, Australia etc. My friend had a trunk tracking scanner but it was seized by the cops. Trunk tracking works because the police band (the frequency it runs on) constantly changes. Trunk tracking is capable of following the frequency while it changes. Not sure how acurate this is but this is what I have been told. I was looking into it as well. It is a very useful tool.

I got one.............course its in a crown vic, along with a cage and some lights. I find it to be very useful, and so does the dept.

you can look up the frequencies online.

but living in miami, they probably use a trunked (digital) system there, so it's not even worth bothering with unless you get one that supports that (usually the expensive ones).

hah, seems that one should work and thats not a bad price either. it already has the digital card installed, which is what you want to have. i've just started doing reasearch on these myself.

read jpsimon's threads on DTM, they are pretty helpful.
