Heres a link to the pics I took. Just amazing, it went down in like 2 hours.

Makes you stop and take a look around at all you have and treasure it. They are on vacation and apparently there was just a dog in the house. No word yet on if it survived.

An all too familiar sight. I was right in the middle of the San Diego fires last October. You probably saw all the footage TV. The sky was so black I didn't see the sun or moon for almost two weeks. Irrie. It burned 150 homes in my girlfriends neighborhood, including her brother's, who lives right next door to her. It got within a mile of my house, but I didn't have to work for a week because the fire was everywhere and the roads were closed. Of the houses that got burned, there was NOTHING left except the concrete foundation. Too many fires, the fire department didn't even try to put them out.

Best wishes to your friend. Hope everything turns out ok.

Heres some pics of what I went through.

    Right by my girlfriend's house.

I had a ton of pics of the fire lighting up the sky at night by my house, but I can't find them.

This hill by my house burned for around 3 days. That is a Wal Mart in bottom of the pic. The fire was burning right up against the building and there were still people shopping inside.

    Smokey sky at night.

    Ashes after one day.

Thats crazy to see that burning all day long. Guess people just went on with their daily routines because its a common sight.

I live right out by the west windsor plainsboro high school. You can see the remains of the house from Penn Lyle Rd I believe.

I saw burning for over a week and a half straight. Couldn't really go about your daily routine since a lot of the roads and freeways were closed. You were not really supposed to go outside because the air was so bad. You pretty much had to cover your mouth when you were outside or you would be breathing in ash. In some areas you had to wear masks. Most people didn't work for days. Even though you saw fire just a couple feet away constantly, you still couldn't get used to it. We all joked that it was the apocalypse. I think it was the second a largest fire in California's history. I think it also did the most structural damage too. Never going to forget it. I was evacuated a couple times. The day it started I saw it while I was driving and decided not to go to work. I went to my girlfriends house and we were just chillin. Next thing you know cops are driving through the neighborhood and telling us over the loud speaker we had 1 MINUTE to leave. I went outside and saw a massive wall of fire about 100 yds away. We all made it out safe. Burned all of her yard, but her house surrvived. Unfortunately her brothers didn't.

Once again, I hope everything works out OK for your friend.
