i did mine on a budget. i used my existing lower trim pieces and just sliced them...s4 trim is expensive from the dealer and rarely comes up on the classifieds. others have removed the lower trim completely and just had the clips shaved. also, all the OEM mounting hardware for the s4 sides cost $$$ as well so I just riveted mine. hehe. But you cant tell unless the car is lifted. Here's how it looks:

BTW...make sure the shop you go to has had experience installing s4 sides. Looks easy but theres alot more to it.

    damn... that looks perfect.
so two more questions, how is the lower trim holding up.. i have mine just colormatched and they have cracked and peeled etc from bending or folding..
and, how much did just the lower s4 skirts cost you....
    thanks homie..

IIRC the lower portion of the sideskirt is around 300??? for the pair and then comes the paint and install. You'll need some accompanying mounting hardware but like what was mentioned you simply slice the existing modling to accommodate the sides.

    thanks...
accompanying oem hardware? or just let the bodyshop freestyle it?
i think i may drop in on this, i'll have to have my trims re-done also though since they're cracked..

the lower trim is holding up good so far but it's only been a couple of months.

I got the s4 skirts used for 200...no mounting hardware but were already painted silver.

Overspun - The shop didn't want to cut my trim either so I sliced it myself. It's soft so it was easy to cut. Those little caps at the ends are a little harder.

i'm on the same boat...trying to get s4 sides.

there's a budget way to do it. I'm gonna do some more research on it. I know a few people who did this, seems like they just drill right into the car.

The lower section of the door will need respraying anyway. When you remove the upper part of the sill trim there will be an assortment of metal clips and holes that need removing and smoothing over

i say just get a set of aftermarket skirts. much easier then installing the S4 stuff. but that's just me speaking =)

iirc all you need are the skirts and the door sills. your bodyshop can improvise from there.

put the trim back on and close your door. you'll see where it starts to bend. mark off each end at the bending points and then just use a long ruler to guide the blade. i used one of those levelers to guide my blade. then put it back on and see if it needs trimming. once your done with one piece, measure it and use that as your basis for cutting the others.

mine arent perfect but you cant really tell once they are painted.

Why don't you check out the caractere skirts? they look almost like the S4's and easier to install. I know someone on here has it on a Santorin A4 2.8.
