here they are..all the lettering and rings were all painted on..the whole car has been repainted, kept the original color cuz i always loved that tri-coat pearlessence white (i did it myself, used to paint cars for living) i stripped all the decals and words off the decklid too and painted it all on there..the lettering and rings were all done in marblizer (paint "trick").. blue and silver candy marbilizer...u can do marbilizer in several colors but i did blue so it would match my interior...i took some close up pics of the marblizer so u get an idea what it looks like.

sorry some of the pics are dark and bad lighting..havent taken new pics forever..but taken new ones this weekend with my roomate and his E36 M3..should be sunny so ill get better pics!!

heres what i did with the rings that used to be on the decklid

People usually use temporary decals for that sort of thing. Using actual paint, with the marble effect, is different.

Kinda looks ghetto to me. I would have taken a more subtle approach, especially on the "Audi Quattro" on the back and spoiler. Just my $0.2

If you paid $7k for that pait you got ripped off. I was just saying that the enormously LARGE lettering on the back looks ghetto. That paint itself looks good.

I'm not sure I understand why you'd go with such a huge style.

agreed, the text takes away from the car, people see *AUDI QUATTRO* and not the audi itself. Just my opinion

apparently u didnt read the first thread of mine..i said that i painted the car myself..i used to paint cars for a living...so i didnt hardly pay for much..next to nothing...the 7gs i reffered is a proffesional quote of what it would cost a customer

secondly...u saying that "u got ripped off" just goes to show how very little u know about good paint jobs(or the auto repair industry)..weve had ppl dump 10gs into a paint job no problem...unless of course u take ur audi to Maaco...u can hook up a tight A55 "paint job" for couple hundred bucks...lol...u get what u pay for bud..

and in reference to the size of the lettering..well if I had done them any smaller, u would never be able to see the marblizer in them..comprehende?

As a matter of fact I've been painting Aircraft for the past 8yrs and cars for a little longer than that, so I have PLENTY on knowledge when it comes to painting. Furthermore, I don't care what you say, a plain white paint job with a little "bowling-ball" lettering doesn't run $7k. Comprende?

like i said..u get what u pay for...u must be a Maaco employee lol in some shops the word "quality" means a lil more then other places..just to give u an idea..the shop i worked for (we did alot of custom paint, airbrushing work) was not a cheap shop nor was the work...if ur point is..can u get the same paint i have and same graphics i have for less then 7gs??

yeah u probably could somewhere else...but again...some shops "quality" work may be a lil different from another shops...our shop was never called cheap by anybody...but it never stopped customers for coming, they new it was truely great ,work/material/craftsmanship they were paying for...u pay for alot of time when u want something that is painstaking-ly - painstaking d:l

also i dont know what materials u use, but for the most part dupont is considerably more $$$ also i dunno how much graphic/custom paint work uve done but laying the masked image takes a WHOLE LOT of time..espiacally when ur layin 4 rings down that have to be perfect circles...NOTE: those rings dont come outta the machine in one piece, the cars not-flat sheet metal makes it impossible to lay down a one set piece of masked rings.. theirs a joint where everyone ring meets at every point! so u lay out each piece of ring seperatly..try to picture that if u can...never counted how many that is..but it was alot..this all applys to TIME IS MONEY thing..and u kno how true that is when it comes to a proffesional shops time $$$$

and that blue candy and the silver marbilizer aint to cheap either($mad markup$)

the overall paint job looks nice, and the pearl effect on the rings is pretty cool.

the big lettering on the back and spoiler isn't exactly my style, but if you like it, rock it.

LMAO this has to the funniest thread ever...

i hope u didn't expect everyone to compliment your paint scheme. obvsiously posting on an open forum people will have their opinion and if you can't handle it why did you post your car? stop lashing out on people for their opinions...i didn't see anyone post anything ill-mannered just their opinion yet you come back in retaliation by snapping back
