    New owner... questions and pics

Hey all, just stumbled across your forum and thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to join . I picked up my '01 S4 yesterday at Baillargeon Audi in Dallas, TX. Paid $27K for it, which I thought was fair considering what I got. It's a certified pre-owned black/black 6spd car with 45K miles and a clean Carfax report. Car itself is flawless aside from a few rock chips and slight wear on the driver's seat leather.
This is my first european car... I've only owned and worked on Chevies previously, so I'm very much a newbie to S4s.

Got one question that has been bugging me since I first saw my car in pics... All other S4s I've seen in person and in pics had badges on the trunklid and grille, with the Audi and S4 emblems in chrome with a red stripe on the side. My car is missing the front badge and has a different rear one... What's the deal here?

    Welcome!

The rear badge you got shows you have a 2001.5 It is the new style badge. Not sure why there isn't want on the front...there should be.

    Nice camaro

the previous owner probably had an aftermarket front grill prior to trading/selling the car and placed the emblem on the aftermarket one. simple fix...head to the dealer and buy a new one and put it on

Cool, I thought it was something like that.
The "Camaro" is my roommate's '68 Shelby GT500 replica ("Eleanor" car in Gone in 60 Seconds) that he built himself from a bucket of rust... wonder what he'd say to it being called a Camaro

Front badge probably went missing somewhere in the past. I may leave it this way... ordinary folks won't know what hit them till they see taillights

I will be leaving the car stock until I sell my 96 Impala SS clone and have some extra cash laying around. I know it's probably been asked here a million times, but what do you guys recommend doing first? I'm happy with the looks of the car... I'm just interested in unleashing its performance potential. I've been told that computer reprogramming gives the best bang for the buck on an S4.

Haha...oopps! I was a little out of it that night. I thought it looked a lot like Elanor but then was thinking of your comment "I have only owned chevy's" and was like i guess that can't be right. I'm sure if he could make a bucket of rust look like that he could make a camaro look like that

Looks very nice Defiant. I have to agree with everyone about the chip. First drive after you put that chip in will make you want to pull over and rub one off (if thats your thing).

But for looks I'm all about the suspension, then wheels (in that order) cause if you put nice 18's or something on there without lowering it first, it just looks all goofy IMHO!

    Love the car, nice job!:-)
I'm looking at upgrading my A4 to an S4 right now...
