Angry People with aftermarket head units, help me get my rear speakers to work :(

How did you guys get your rear speakers to work with an aftermarket head unit?

The head unit puts out an amped signal however the stock amp is looking for a preamp signal. I don't want to run speaker wire all the way back yet....how can I do it?

You could probably feed the rear speakers off the rear RCA outputs of your deck and also give it remote turn on. If your deck doesn't have rear RCA outputs, you could use a LOC.

oops. LOC is a Line Output Converter.
It converts speaker level outputs to line level outputs. If you just want something to listen to and don't need audiophile quality, it should be ok.

you're lucky you don't have concert sound with the phone setup. I had to independently run wire to each speaker (8)

Also what did you people use for a trim piece around the HU? I got one from sounddomain.com and it fits like complete CRAP. I ****ed my dash up with it and I'm pissed about it.

You don't need to run wire to each speaker, just the amp if you're doing it that way. There's also an easier way.

Are you talking about a non-bose system? I cut the wires going to the rear speaker amp and rewired the speakers.

I had to run wire from the H/U all the way to the rear speakers. splice the 2 wires coming off the rear speakers + and - then hook them up accordingly from the H/U.
