Ah yes, but take a look at the turbine efficiency map between these two turbos, you will note the 2860RS has an efficiency rating of 72% whereas the 2876R has a rating of 62%.
I don't have Audi specific experience with these turbos, but on other 2.0L engines I've observed more than 300rpm difference in spool-up, and very little difference up top. Keep an eye on the wheel ratios; the 2876R has a 76mm cold wheel paired with a 53.8mm hot wheel, the ratio is 1.4:1. On the 2860RS you have a 60mm cold wheel paired with a 53.8mm hot wheel, that's a ratio of 1.1:1. According to Garrett, wheel ratios greater than 1.25:1 are not advisable.
